LOL! Of course it would be left in place. You think the assclowns would ever back off on taxing us where ever they can?

Soon to be followed by annual tax based on gross vehicle weight. Count on it!

LOL! Yeah, when I look at the contribution totals/contributers, I really wonder just how many are hitch-hiking and how many are helping to pay the operating costs for FReerepublic. I do what I can every quarter.

Do you remember the fiasco with seat belt interlocks and starting your car? Did that happen or was it a nightmare? LOL!

Did the low grade moron at the CBO mention that if they are going to charge you by the miles driven they are also going do away with ALL gasoline taxes?

Nah, this will no doubt be in addition to existing taxes on gasoline.

Same here, every quarter and often I throw in an extra quarter during a FR fund raiser.

This isn’t Alex Jones crap either. I can show you the maps of houses in our area where they charge more taxes on your property based on how much of the soil is covered by structures or cement. ANY time they are allowed an opening to tax, they will tax and find perpetually inventive ways to tax anything and everything. I work with a couple of bozos who even take the 10 dollar discount for letting their insurance company run a data logger on their car ODBC port. Damned fools... this stuff sets a dangerous precedence

Waited? They’ve come pretty damn close already.

Passports for international travel, ‘licenses’ for driving, oops, OPERATING a vehicle. Sure can’t bike (pedal power) on the high-ways/etc. And, outside of some communities, horse/carriage are all but relegated to history....Hell, it’s illegal to hitch-hike in most areas I’m aware of.

Just think of all the political appointee jobs that will be created. We’ll need someone to take care of all these new government positions that are monitoring what you’re doing.

That bugs me too!

The same commercial also has a comment along the lines of “it reminds me of an Audi”, which I wouldn’t have put in there. Kia and Hyundai are known for copying styling elements of upscale autos (Mercedes, BMW) and it looks like Chevrolet is following suit.

When I first saw the car, I immediately picked up on the rear 3-quarter view looking like the same view from an Audi A7. I would not take “looking like an Audi” as a compliment for marketing purposes. I would consider it a design-team fail (besides the fact that its profile now looks like late-model Buicks). It’s hard to draw in young blood when your design elements mirror the styling on cars associated with old people.

He makes a good point. We need our 2nd Amendment rights kept intact to deal with the out of touch with reality socialist elite overlords with these hair-brained ideas.

< WE ALREADY PAY BY THE MILE!!! Only, they measure it in GALLONS!

Exactly. They make billions with that tax alone! We are dealing with self-serbing tyrants who have figured out ways to siphon off the money from public funds into their own pockets and there is only one way to stop it -removal from office method A or B.

> And notice that I said "citizen" in the above. Illegal immigrants would not be subjected to this. Just because.

My wife and I were talking about if we gave up our citizenship rights so we didn't have to pay taxes we could just live here and be illegal immigrants and get free healthcare, food, housing, education, etc..and then we realized we can't because we're white...oh well...
