The North Korean regime lost contact with one of its submarines earlier this week, three U.S. officials familiar with the latest information told CNN.

U.S. spy satellites, aircraft and ships have been secretly watching for days as the North Korean navy searched for the missing sub.

The U.S. is unsure if the missing vessel is adrift under the sea or whether it has sunk, the officials said, but believes it suffered some type of failure during an exercise.

Years back, I would have asked about the Glomar Explorer.

Sadly our dear leader has no clothes; no nothing.

I wonder if it was taken out by SK in retaliation for the launches and the earlier SK civilian boat sinking.

As a Marine mom who knows what the boots are going through under our administration, I have great empathy to NK moms whose sons probably have no choice and know they are doomed.

That's the thing about submarine service: what goes up must come down, but what goes down doesn't necessarily have to come up. Yeah, I know they're godless Norks and all but

Eternal Father strong to save
Whose arm has bound the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep
It's own appointed limits keep,
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in Peril on the sea.

It would be hard to defect in an NK sub. Too many fanatics.

However, I get the feeling that the new President Puggsly is not very popular.

My guess would be that it got too close to the exercises and was taken out.

Probably had something to do with Dear Leader’s insistence on screen doors for the conning tower.
