He can always say the Speaker lied to him at the time, right Ted?

nickcarraway, Kasich hasn’t changed. He’s still pro-invader. And he still plays nice with OH corporations that want their cheap labor and to move manufacturing overseas.

“If Trump can get Kasick’s NAFTA and CommieCore info to the voters in Ohio, Trump will win Ohio in a landslide.”

I bet they’ll be on it before this thread is finished.

If Trump’s team is on the ball, they will get an ad spun up quick and at least get it on social media over the weekend.

Give me a break. This is not new information to Ohio voters. It has been used in each of his campaigns for Governor. You Trumpites will jump on every story as if it is brand new dirt. Hilarious.

I thought things a candidate did that long ago don’t count? Or that only applies to certain candidates?

Voting for NAFTA does count, no matter how you try to spin it.

And if Gov. Kasich is a supporter of Common Core, he deserves to be criticized for that as well.

Do you support Common Core and NAFTA?

I know Ted Cruz is against Common Core, and NAFTA was undeniably bad for this country, whether one is pro-labor or pro-sovereignty...

No need to discuss - we’ll just see what happens Tuesday.

BTW, this may be ‘old news’ to some, but not to everyone. And when it’s put in it’s proper perspective, the OH electorate may not be nearly as cavalier about losing jobs and subjecting their kids to CommonCore as you apparently are.

“Give me a break. This is not new information to Ohio voters.”

If Ohio voters are so aware of Kasich’s vote for NAFTA, why is he polling so well there? Doesn’t this bother them?

Or, are Ohio voters so uninformed, that they’re unaware of the destructive effects that trade agreement has had on their state? Perhaps they forgive him out of a sense of loyalty.

I am not arguing with you on that. I am only saying there is a double standard here.

You say Kasich is ‘pro-invader.’ I agree. But he’s not the only one.

I support Trump but I do respect Kasick. He has said that Common Core in Ohio is applied by the Local School districts setting standards with State Oversight, not the Department of Education bureaucrats trying to push leftist agenda down on school kids.

So if Common Core was pushed on the states, at least Kasick implemented it from the State level, not from the DC Department of Education.

I think Kasick has been consistent in saying that anything the Department of Education does should be sent to the states and let each state, working with local school districts implement it to meet the local communities needs, etc.

Now the NAFTA deal is fair game. Trump was correct very early on in pointing out the Free Trade deals made were “free only for the other country”. Kasick may not have thought the deals would turn out the way they did but once the Free trade open border crowd got these deals in place, they have continued on with no push back against Countries who abuse the Trade Deals.

Got to respect Trump, he was on this issue way, way, way back. I saw a Bernie Sanders Ad, I assume, with COngresswoman Jordan warning that these deals would harm American Workers and she was criticizing NAFTA right after it was signed by Bill Clinton. This issue is cutting across the political spectrum. If Trump wins the nomination and the establishment gets behind him, I can see lots of BLue Collar democrats and independents voting for Trump. Not sure any other Republican would get them.

“According to analysis from the Economic Policy Institute, ‘Ohio lost 112,500 jobs due to the nation’s trade deficit with TPP countries,’”

You do know that the Economic Policy Institute is a left-leaning shill for organized labor, ... don’t you?

Have a big ad buy on Sunday and Monday nights, showing everyone in OH what Kasich did. Nothing negative, just point out the vote, and show the effect of NAFTA on OH.

Indeed. Have a slide show displaying crowds of workers entering a factory, then the empty factory, then the empty land where the factory used to be.

On my many trips throught the Rust belt, I saw that progression - and it all can't be blamed on avaricious unions or stifling regulations.

The baton for Ohio’s opposition to most trade matters has passed from Kucinich to Sherrod Brown. Unfortunately, he also comes with a LOT of other political baggage.

That aside, one can be hopeful that the switch to Trump at least signals a break in Democrat strangleholds over such issues.

His Dad really was a mailman.

In McKees Rocks, PA, which is not exactly the Garden Spot of America. Known for Tony Soprano-types and the area's largest nudie bar.
