Kyle Odom's Martian Chronicles
KXLY News ^ | Rob Kauder

Posted on 03/10/2016 7:01:00 AM PST by EBH

Kyle Odom is an honorably discharged Marine, a Dean's List graduate from the University of Idaho and a man driven to kill a Coeur d'Alene pastor based on his belief that his life had been ruined “by an intelligent species of amphibian-humanoid from Mars.”

In multiple documents in a thumb drive mailed to KXLY Monday and received Tuesday, Odom laid out his manifesto that a race of ancient Martians, with subterranean bases on Earth and under the surface of the Moon, had subverted all levels of the US and Israeli governments, ranging from top ranking members of the US Senate – including Washington Sen. Patty Murray and US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell – as well as members of the US House of Representatives and many Israeli lawmakers including “every single Prime Minister since 1948.”

An honorably discharged Marine who served with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at Camp Pendleton, Calif. for four years, Odom had deployed on a combat tour to Iraq during his tour of duty, but there has been no indication he suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was honorably discharged in late 2010.

In his manifesto, which is laid out across multiple electronic documents, he claims that things started going sideways for him while he was in his final semester at the University of Idaho. By his own admission he was taking a heavy course load, maintaining a high grade point average, working toward a degree in biochemistry, which he earned along in late 2014 when he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

He writes in a document titled “My Story” that in order to cope during that last semester he began meditating and worked on achieving “extreme states of consciousness.” During one of his meditation sessions he claims he encountered another being,

Says he went to the VA for help. They admitted him, but they weren’t able to help him.

Just remember, someone once said that a parniod is someone who knows more then you.

There are actually many writings on this subject.

Even Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions”

If you don’t believe in UFOvs look up the Washington DC UFO sightings in the early 50’s

Extensive video covetage by news organizations of 10-15 UFO’s flying over DC and the Capital building over the course of a couple of weeks.

For me there are UFO’s, God didn’t create trillions of planets just to put us here.

Sounds like paranoid schizophrenia. A sad story indeed.

Didn’t he know that Martians are bald and speak with British accents? Rock Hudson found out in the 70s.

In all seriousness, very sad.

Seems like classic paranoid schizophrenia, but his story says it was triggered by meditation, which is a good way to open oneself to demonic influences.

UFO = UNIDENTIFIED Flying Object.

If it’s unidentified, it’s illogical to assume it is alien in nature.

Veteran, yes. So are a lot of us. Sometimes I think that’s a convenient excuse for later behavior that’s not acceptable. In this case the article mentions there was no reason or claim of PTSD from his deployment [his stateside duty was in a MC air wing].

A lot of us had hardship and unpleasant experiences and went through very similar improvement efforts to educate themselves afterwards.

Sometimes, crazy and unbalanced is just that - crazy and unbalanced.

I was thinking the same thing. Couple that with having been in the Middle East...sometimes I think they attach to an individual and wait for that weak moment to take over. He went to get professional help at the VA and it didn’t help.

Sounds more like paranoid schizophrenia than anything else. My last semester in college I was carrying a full load, working part time for 2 police departments, and attending a night class for one of my police jobs. Was I ready to wig out at the end of the semester? Hell yes. Did I shoot a pastor and drive cross country to throw the electronic equivalent of a manifesto at the white house? Um, no. The guy is either mentally ill or trying better living through biochemistry, with himself as the guinea pig. Either way I hope he figures it out. But with attempt murder, he won’t be seeing daylight for some time.

Yes indeed...similar to the "empty your mind, repeat the sacred word, and wait in silence" practice of contemplative prayer infiltrating today's evangelical churches.

When you become familiar with this type of mental illness the experience it describes sounds like literal Hell.

I have heard from a survivor/recoveror of this illness that death would be far preferable than living through the suffering again.
