Russia Threatens Invasion If North Korea Nuclear Rhetoric Continues
Daily Caller ^ | 03/09/16 | Russ Read

North Korea’s provocative nuclear rhetoric has gotten so bad even the Kremlin has come out against the hermit kingdom, warning continued nuclear threats could justify an invasion.

The warning was issued in the form of a written statement from the Russian foreign ministry. It follows North Korea’s threat it would engage in a “preemptive and offensive nuclear strike” in reaction to the start of joint U.S.-South Korean war games Monday.

“We consider it to be absolutely impermissible to make public statements containing threats to deliver some ‘preventive nuclear strikes’ against opponents,” said the statement, as translated by the Russian TASS news agency. “Pyongyang should be aware of the fact that in this way the DPRK [North Korea] will become fully opposed to the international community and will create international legal grounds for using military force against itself in accordance with the right of a state to self-defense enshrined in the United Nations Charter.”

How?

Can they achieve air dominance so that they can land and airdrop troops?

Didn’t think so.

What a stupid statement. I expect better from the Sov, er, Russians.

The Obama administration has accomplished nothing, except making the enemies of this country stronger.

China and Russia suddenly looking at North Korea as if to say “Our world would be a lot simpler if you were gone”.

“Can they achieve air dominance so that they can land and airdrop troops?”

All they have to do is take out about five square miles in the capital and the country is over.

I’m going to be less than 200 miles from North Korea in a month. I am watching this carefully.

I think this is more like trying to convince the South Koreans that they might have a better friend with Russia to protect them then the US.

t’s a new world, and a new Russia!!!! (Or perhaps a version of the old, pre-1917 Russia). Get used to it!!!!

Once WE decide we no longer want to be the Atheist-”Gay” Empire, we might make Orthodox Christian Russia our ally, and perhaps even eliminate the small but very dangerous North Korea!!!!

The right decisions in the 2016 election might do that for us!!!!

I think Russia wants China to shut up that loon in North Korea.

Methinks you are right, and China is pretty much in agreement, but they still want NK to be a small legacy stone in America's shoe as a reminder.

Both Russia and China consider their own economies very much more important than NK tantrums.

Huh? The Norks are using Soviet technology from the 60s

Any modern nation can devastate them. The only problem is that they are effectively pointing a gun at the South’s head and will pull the trigger when attacked.

Wow! Finally some leadership in this important issue that America has allowed to fester since the asinine ‘armistice’.

Putin, for all his faults, is a leader while the nincompoop we’ve ensconced in the Black Hut leads by crawling on his stomach.

Russia and China are now both capitalist enough to realize what would be the ramifications if that little goofy despot launched a nuke.

Interesting comments from Freepers.

Is Russia trying to be a responsible world citizen?
I doubt it. It is more likely that they see the United States under the Obama administration as a weak ally of South Korea. They are trying to take South Korea into their sphere of influence...as they have done with Syria and Iraq.

Is “capitalist” China fed up with their satellite?
China is still very much a communist country. Xi Jinping is a far harder communist than his somewhat-free-market predacessor Hu Jintau. North Korea has tested nukes and has fired off balistic missles...and China has done nothing. The arrangement is that China makes the money and North Korea makes the threats. China will do nothing.
