Iran Elections: Is west falling Victim to Iran's Sleight of Hand?

As predicated, the elections in Iran turned into a definite failure despite extensive vote riggings started days before the elections day. Iranian officials had claimed a 65 to 75 percent turnout but it appeared to be nothing but their usual hoopla. They have also prepared the task force to handle the vote rigging to announce such figures which they term "Election Engineering". Looking back to the previous elections result announcements, reveals the well-known Iran's manipulating method that multiplies the actual votes by a certain constant then broadcasting the number several times the real voter turnout.

Behind these public absurd claims, Tehran is deeply concerned of the widespread public boycott. Khamenei's fatwa that participation in the elections is a religious duty and that blank ballots are religiously forbidden, before all else, indicate such a fear. This decree gave free hand to the related authorities to implements all compulsory or even alluring measures to promote the elections turnout. In one instance the government employees were threatened that spare in voting would eventually end to their dismissal or other retributions.

The twin elections were merely a competition between the incumbent versus former officials all in charge of torture and executions. The outcome of this sham election is actually a gain for the Iranian people. Because as far as the ruling mullahs are concerned both factions are now facing with a much weaker theocratic rule in this country. Khamenei's hegemony and domination within the regime has been undermined and the taboo of challenging him and discussing his replacement has been broken. This will be the beginning of an era of unprecedented fragility and decadency of the doctrine of "Velayat-e Faqih" (the Supreme leader absolute rule prior to the constitution and its lawful institutions) and Khamenei will not be able to do away with the consequences.

The rival factions within Iran theocracy rule share common interests in domestic suppression and plunder of the public's wealth, as well as vital need to advocate terrorism abroad. The main figures in both factions have had long hand in crimes against humanity in Iran, repeatedly condemned by the United Nations and other humanitarian bodies. The regime's former president Rafsanjani and his cabinet members are pursued by the German, Swiss and Argentine judiciaries for their terrorist crimes in foreign countries. The 2.5 years of Rouhani's presidency is also marked by at least 2300 executions. Despite the international calls for abolition of capital punishment, on April 20, 2014, Rouhani vindicated the executions in Iran as "God's commandments" and "laws of the parliament that belongs to the people".

Likewise, the current Intelligence Minister, his two predecessors, and Ali Razini, the deputy head of the Judiciary and a "Sharia" judge who are included in one of the two assemblies under the name of moderates are all accountable for numerous cases of extrajudicial executions without due process of law and must face justice for committing crimes against humanity. Nonetheless, so called moderates just same as their rivals have no alternative but to keep up with the suppressive measures to save the system in its entirety and contain social movements that would eventually lead to regime's utter paralyze and its ultimate overthrow.

The hard-liners who have of course received a definitive rebuke, must resort more than any time else to their old policy of suppression and terror through the judiciary, the security forces and the ample economic resource in their control to keep the power. On the other hand the opposing factions have proven to have neither the power nor the intention to push a course of actions for the very basic social and economic demands at home and ending terror abroad.

People in Iran have experienced that any notion of moderation within the framework of the Ayatollah's Republic is nothing but illusion, Iran previous president Khatami's so called moderation evolved to insane hardliner Ahmadinejad enrolment as president. Therefore, any perception that the nuclear deal might have brought Iran out of its hostile posture with the West is also in vain. Despite hypes over the elections results by Iran and it trade counterparts abroad no fundamental change in Iran's either domestic or foreign policy is practical.

Ms. Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) calling on leaders of western countries in her interview with Forbes opinion , reiterated: "The West has fallen victim to an amateur sleight of hand. Who are the so-called moderates even if they manage to come out of the ballot box after all?" She added: "real reform would be possible only through the wholesale rejection of the theocracy. The West should respect the will of the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance to institute real democracy and popular sovereignty. They must hold the Iranian regime to account for its increasing executions and its intensification of domestic crackdown, and refuse to tolerate the regime's regional meddling."

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) seeks a secular and pluralistic government committed to gender equality and peaceful co-existence in the region and throughout the world. NCRI views the ballot box as the only source of legitimacy for any government. But as long as the current theocracy is in power, this enduring dream cannot be realized.

Obama has sided with the mullahs since day one in office, and he'll do so until the day he leaves. He ALWAYS sides with the most radical elements in the Islamic world. Every single time.

The NRCI is a front for the MeK terrorist organization.

They’re self-professed Islamo-Marxists in the style of Ali Shariatri.

I used to think it was simply incompetence guiding the current administration. I have come to believe it is malice against the America that once governed our nation. Of course the malice is petty malice exhibited by the stupid with poor impulse control.
