Apple and Google and their likes really don’t need to import more cheap foreign laborers. They’ve got thousands and thousands of them already - can’t even build enough offices to house them all. And these firms can do this work overseas too and pay the same foreigners even less to do it there. So, there’s something else motivating these guys. I’d like to hear what it might be. (And meanwhile they’ve gotta be stopped of course)

No, no. They want even more HB-1 visas! I have a close relative that works with these people, in this industry. The visas are controlled by the sponsoring companies, Google, Facebook, Apple etc and they depress the wages because the slot is owned by the company and they have to ask permission to move to a different company.

Except, the large tech companies who use these workers have a private pact between themselves not to offer employment to each others employees, which again, suppress wages.

Its a real mess out there right now. Its so expensive to live there, these companies feed these kids at work to get them to work round the clock, yet some of these kids cannot buy food due to the cost of rent. Its unbelievable!

Yes ... but why don’t these huge international corporations just pay the foreigners to do the same work in the foreigners’ own countries (mostly that means Communist China but also some from India and other Asian nations).
Wages in those places are still lower than what the corps are paying the foreigners to do the work now, here.
(And both Apple and Google are paying out zillions of $$$ just for super-sized new buildings in SillyCon Valley, etc... just to house (and as you point out, feed) all these foreigners here

NO, it does not make economic sense for the corps to be importing more and more of the Asian workers when the corps could get the same work from the very same workers in Asia

There HAS to be more to this story... its not all about H-1b visas... yes, to some degree but there has to be a lot more about this story, imho

thanks
