Rather then scream bile at people, stop and think about what people are saying to you. Put your Hate Trump Always dogmas on hold and think for just this ONE thread.
Steyn is worried about how everyone will be needed to get a Republican elected, but he wants everyone to rally behind Trump. Why not Cruz? The angle of his discussion is that Cruz supporters need to get on board with Trump. Why not Trump supporters getting on board with Cruz? Because Steyn supports Trump.
Steyn keeps getting angry at conservatives and mischaracterizing them. That’s not going to convince conservatives to suddenly support Trump. Conservatism is a set of definable principals, and anyone who knows those principals can determine who is and isn’t following them.
Notice how Steyn isn’t using anything Trump has said or done to convince conservatives to support Trump. Not a single fact or truth about Trump. Just this “we need to win so get behind my canidate” routine. The reason he doesn’t is because everything Trump says and does is obviously not conservative.
Steyn says Cruz has done him wrong because Cruz is unpopular with the establishment in the Senate and only the conservative Senators endorsed Cruz?
Steyn says he doesn’t have a candidate he’s rooting for? Does he think we can’t realize he hasn’t said anything negative about Trump yet but did for every other candidate? He didn’t even seem all that bothered that Trump was suing him. Seems more like he feels honored by it.

Ok just now for the first time Steyn is finally saying some truth and facts about Trump, saying Trump has no understanding of the constitution and is extremely anti first amendment especially.
But then Steyn immediately tries *again* to cover for Trump by saying “you’ll never have a perfect candidate”. The thing is, Cruz is WAY more “perfect” than Trump. So why support Trump over Cruz? In fact, why not support Hillary Clinton, because after all, no candidate is perfect, right?
Great post John and you are right. Its high time we stopped all the negativity between us. We are not the problem. Those of us on this board are the solution. Liberalism, the regime, hillary, demoncrats, they are the problem. We need to concentrate on that.

If conservatives are so insignificant, then why does it matter to you if they don’t vote for Trump? If Trump needs conservatives, why is that different than Cruz needing Trump supporters? Since Cruz is a conservative, why not encourage everyone to get behind Cruz instead of stumping for a leftist like Trump?
If you like Reagan, why not like Cruz, who is the closest to Reagan that is running for President?

There is a difference between people who call themselves conservatives and people who actually are conservative. Just because some people lie to get elected, that’s no excuse to reject conservatism and vote for a leftist like Trump.
Actually, it is Trump supporters that don’t care what Trump is going to do in office. They often express the idea that just having Trump in office will make their lives happy and America great again. When it is pointed out that most of Trump’s policies are identical to Hillary Clinton’s, that Trump will further destroy the economy, and that Trump will put leftists on the bench, they simply ignore it. After the election they will simply unplug from politics contented that “they are winners”.
Trump may make it impossible for anyone but a leftist to ever be elected again. With his single payer healthcare system in place and a court packed with leftists, the country will have no choice but to lurch left. The only thing Trump is going to lead is further decline of America.
What Trump supporters don’t see is that Trump is part of the establishment. He spent his life and money funding most of them. He has given what they want to “make deals”. Trump is an insider.
Only a conservative can “shatter the corrupt” because the opposite of corruption is conservatism. Trump’s leftism cannot shatter corruption, instead Trump will embrace it. Like Trump embraces the crony capitalism (ie corruption) of ethanol subsidies so much as to make them even higher than Obama ever did, all so Trump could get some votes.
Our kids and grand kids will live in poverty and violence, because that is the state of places that don’t have conservatism.
I am a Cruz supporter, but will vote for Trump if he’s the nominee. Anything to keep Hitlery or Sandernista out of the WH for another 4-8yrs. Trumps a bigger target and easier to smack, because he’s in the lead right now.
Again, don’t respond with a per-porgamed attack bot talking point. Stop, read, think and response to the point for a change.

Sadly, it IS falling on deaf ears.
And when did Trump do this? Would like to see it with my own eyes.
It is also easier to show with truth and facts that Trump is a leftist who will lead to the reduction or outright elimination of liberties like the first amendment and right to private property. His tariffs will lead to abject poverty. His single payer healthcare will lead to authoritarianism, sickness, pain and death. Trump has expressed willingness to increase visa access to the USA, so his wall (if he even builds it) will be worthless, since defacto amnesty will come in through the front door.

What I have heard so far from Mark that it will end up coming down before the primary season ends is that it is going to come down to two men, Trump or Cruz.
