Bernie Sanders, the Senator representing the socialist paradise of Vermont, has apparently never seen a poor white person. This is understandable since about 1% of the state's population is black.
But Sanders considers himself an expert on the racial divide in poverty. And at last night's debate with Hillary Clinton, the Senator expounded on his theories of race and poverty.
During the CNN Democratic debate Thursday night Sen. Bernie Sanders claimed that if someone was white they don’t know what it’s like to be poor or live in a ghetto.
“When you’re white you don’t know what it’s like to be living in a ghetto, you don’t know what it’s like to be poor,” said Sanders. “You don’t know what it’s like to be hassled when you walk down the street, or dragged out of a car.”
The remarks came in response from a question by CNN’s Don Lemon that asked candidates what “racial blind spots” they had.
Clinton responded by saying, “being a white person in the United States of America I know that I’ve never had the experience that so many people in this audience have had.” Hillary went on to say, “I have spent a lot of time with the mother’s of African-American children who have lost them — Trayvon Martin’s mother.”
Sanders hasn't traveled much in the US. He certainly hasn't been to Appalachia where many whites live in severe poverty not seen in the inner city. Nor has he been to many places in the Mountain West were the killing of coal has made paupers out of thousands of white people.

I remember deciding to go the long way around to get to the shipyard because the tunnel toll was more than the cost of the extra gas. And I don’t know what is was to be poor? Oh right! I had a job. Silly me.
Bernie Sanders is total clown shoes. I fervently hope he gets the nomination.

Everyone will know what it’s like to be poor if a Demwit is elected. Except a small number of elitists. But the poor will k1ll them and eat them for breakfast.
Sanders is a ringer. You can bet Hillary selected him as her lone opponent. She has to run against somebody, and people would vote for a bathmat against her.

Memo to Bernie:
I’m white, I’ve been poor. Not only in my youth but as a young man trying to restart my life after the military. I survived two weeks on potatoes while waiting for a paycheck. Things didn’t get much better for a while for a while after that. I worked my way through school and learned skills for a trade that pretty much died up at about the time I graduated. (Bad timing on my part)
Being a young white male at the time meant, and still means, zero support.
Could it be that Whites actually finish high school instead of dropping out? And that they don’t start making babies before they are married?
And look for work instead of whining that the government isn’t sending them enough money every month to live on?
If you are White and do any of the above, you too, will know what it is to be poor.
Bernie. My early years were spent with my mother, sister aunt and grandfather (while my dad was off in Korea).
The family home had no running water - we had a well outside my grandpa dug himself, an outhouse and had REA electricity. Propane tank and a cooktop range and a coal pot belly stove where we burned anthracite coal. Remnants of those coal piles were still there when I was in my 50s. I remember taking baths as a small boy in a 3 ft. galvanized tub with hot water heated from the stove.
Don’t tell me about whites not knowing what poor means you f@cking libtard.

There are three causes to poverty: Stupidity, ignorance and sloth.
There are plenty of poor white people. I can introduce him to some. And some of them are getting poorer.
It was so funny when those BLM protesters took over his townhall. That was the first time he saw an actual black person up close.
