Gov. Rick Scott is getting handed a string of defeats this year that could render his final 2½ years in office nearly irrelevant.
Republican legislators have already rejected Scott's pitch for steep tax cuts and $250 million for business incentives. They are poised to scuttle a major gambling deal he negotiated with the Seminole Tribe of Florida and may reject his hand-picked leader for the state's health department. And there is growing talk that if Scott vetoes parts of this year's budget, lawmakers will override him. ...

I don’t know Florida politics, but this appears to be Republican establishment tantrum.
That is exactly what it is. Let them go on record with their votes.
The old Commie-ridden AP stirring the pot, as they always do.
A tried and true Apparatchik, if he's ever had a good word for Governor Rick Scott, I must have missed it.
Scott, except in a few instances, has consistently done the right things. The Legislature may be controlled by republicans, but they are far from being conservative republicans.
This journalist is a left wing loon.
Republicans opposing tax cuts? They’ve officially declared themselves the DNC’s bitches.
Pretty much. Rick Scott is not photogenic or a glad hander. He is a smart businessman who wants to get things done.
The legislators are looking to the next election.
Rick Scott was/is 110% pro-life — his actions support this. How can much of anything else compare.

Same as DC power corrupts
Scott is like Trump a businessman and not beholding to anyone
They tried hard to defeat him in the primary
There are a couple of RINO committee chairmen that are single-handedly preventing some of these issues to even be brought up in committee. Senator Miguel Diaz de la Portilla for example, killed at least two recent bills that would have brought Florida into conformance with the 2A and as many as 44 other states. He bragged about killing them by refusing to take them up in committee. Hopefully floridian’s will remember this during the next election cycle. But probably not.
Rick Scott has been good for FL. He’s been fiscally conservative and you never get thanked for that. I hope he endorses Trump.
The GOPe machine has become downright wicked.
Those who settle in to become fellow travelers, go along to get along... it’s a dangerous game at the nation’s expense.
You’ve not missed any kind words from him. He’s said many a nasty thing about Gov. Scott.
