I think Trump will pick Alan West as his running mate. Gotta be somebody with strong knowledge on foreign policy!

After all this birther crap about Cruz, if Trump offers him the nomination... what would that tell you about Trump?
Trump does have some outside advisers of stature - such as Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani - but the people Trump surrounds himself with as part of his formal organization are some of the most pathetic yes-men in world history.
Even Trump’s endorsers are pathetic, e.g., Chris Christie standing behind Trump and blinking in Morse Code: “Help Me.”
Cruz would never join that crew.
And Cruz would never have Trump as his VP, because Trump is a freak, one explanation of which is that Trump may be at the start of a neuro-degenerative decline.
I think Trump/Cruz is the only way out of the box we’ve created. Trump brings the Alpha male, Cruz the Constitutionalist, together they are a whole human being. It’s the only way to unite enough of the party to crush the GOPe and still win the general.

I agree it would be an a formidable and likely unbeatable team,
but what evidence do you have that it is a possibility?
Cruz hasn’t won the south. He lost horribly. How can he win the presidency without the south? Impossible!

Trump will not have someone as his VP who is ineligible because he’s an illegal alien, not when immigration is his core issue. Trump will not have a man hated by everyone in Congress as his President of the Senate. Trump will not have a mentally unstable, weak, disliked, liar where he can represent
Trump may flip-flop a lot, but to flip flop from his politics of destruction scorched earth policy on Cruz to making him his VP isn’t likely. And Cruz isn’t likely to team up with a guy who he believes is reckless and who has crapped all over him for months, from attacking his citizenship, to his ethnicity and religion, to his personality.
Reagan was 69 when first elected and inaugurated. Trump would be 70, the oldest ever.
And he’s right!

Again Cruz brings no swing states to the ticket and he is universally unloved by his colleagues. He is also nakedly ambitious. Not good traits for a VP.
No thanks. A couple months ago I would have loved such a ticket, but never again. Cruz has burned any bridge he may have had. I see him as a slimy lawyer and a reasonably good liar. Anyone joined at the hip with Beck also calls to question his mental stability.
BUT, I do like his boots far better than Rubio’s girlie boots.
