Ted Cruz, celebrating a big win in Kansas, said on Saturday that it's time for Marco Rubio and John Kasich to drop out and for their supporters to rally behind him.
"Well continue to amass delegates but what needs to happen is the field needs to continue to narrow," Cruz said during a press conference Saturday night, adding that he hopes the remaining candidates who are underperforming will ask themselves, Do I have a path coming forward?
"If were divided, Donald wins," he said.
The Texas senator has been advertising himself as the candidate best placed to beat Donald Trump, who is threatening to run away with the GOP nomination after a string of big wins. During a speech at his watch party in Idaho, Cruz said that Saturday's results showed people uniting and standing as one behind this candidate.

Yeah, besides, Beck already swore him in.
I started this campaign behind Ted Cruz when he announced.
I was quite skeptical of Trump when he announced.
Trump has persuaded me he is the one who will beat Hillary.
The campaign has made me like Cruz less and less.
The GOPe needs to unconditionally surrender and give up on their impossible quest to stop Trump with Rubio.
Let Ted lead or else you will have to steal the convention away from Trump and destroy the “Republican” brand name.
Who all he know is Government
Why doesn’t Cruz take his own advice and drop out? He can hit the road as a traveling revival and medicine show with his pal Glenn Beck, who can hustle the rubes with gold and silver.
If they don’t, Cruz will make sure there isn’t a contested convention by ensuring that Trump wins the required delegates.
We can all assume you felt the same way about eisenhower since he was up career federal employee right?
>”If were divided, Donald wins,” he said.
Well that was a dickish thing to say. Here Ted, try this on for size ...

He’s right, Rubio and Kasich have no reason to be there.
I am the exact opposite.
Cruz!!!!
Donald, the con artist and vulgarian, has gotten so far only because of a fractured field. Time for Kasich and Rubio to pack it up, or be responsible for giving the Donald a path to the nomination.
Kasich has nothing to offer. He thinks we’d all like to live in Ohio. He is a crashing bore and needs to pack it up..
I was for Ted Cruz until I saw that video. Now I’m for the Donald because the Donald tells it like it is...
He is government the way it should be - responsive to the people. Take a good look at his record, especially in his Supreme Court cases. He has been defending the Constitution his entire political life. And winning.
all he know? where you from, south central? :)
Rubio and Kasich out? Sure why not let the voter decide
