Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

[Romney: A Mistake for McCain, 7/23/2008, Dick Morris]

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

Probe: Mitt missed chance to keep Tavares jailed - Could have nixed killer’s early exit

Friday, December 28, 2007 - Boston Herald
"Former Gov. Mitt Romney’s administration failed to act on disciplinary recommendations
that would have kept ex-con killer Daniel Tavares locked up another year -
and behind bars at the time he was accused of killing a newlywed couple in Washington state."

"Despite Tavares’ long history of violence, the Romney-led Department of Correction
took no action on recommendations that he be stripped of “good time” because
of assaults on prison guards in 2003 and 2005, said sources familiar with a state probe into the case."

Once again as Romney let conservatism slide (never had it anyway)
Romney made certain that they died.

"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced
,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."
- Boston Globe 7/25/2005

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys.
He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."
- U.S. Senate testimony by Gov. Mitt Romney, 6/22/2004 P>

"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!

Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.
- Boston Globe 11/2/2006

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Alex Beam: “In truth, Ronald Reagan
and Mitt Romney have as much in common
as Cardinal O’Malley and Conan O’Brien.
Deservedly or not, Reagan earned a reputation for constancy.
Once he turned against communism, he opposed it big-time.
…. And our former governor? Inconstancy, thy name is Mitt!
A woman’s right to choose? Yes! No! Yes!
Are we in Massachusetts? Yes! Are we in Iowa? No!
Are we on TV? Whatever!”

Mitt doesn’t have the guts to run against Trump. He knows he would get schlonged. He’s planning on having the cronies in the GOPe hand it to him at the convention.

Isn’t Romney bright enough to realize that he will not only lose bigtime, but be hated even more than he already is?

He probably did, but after the big time blow-back yesterday I do not think he will do it.

You have to get on the ballot in the states.

*******************

It would have to be some type independent run. Maybe the Romney Independent Party, etc.

He can throw his hat in with these some 40 or so wannabees
from various no named parties.

“Anyone know how that ended? I like elephants.”

It depends. Did the elephant compromise with the alligator? After all, the alligator was hungry and the elephant had this pile of meat it was hoarding and the alligator only wanted its fair share. If the elephant compromised and gave away it’s trunk then I’m sure that the GOP and the Democrats were happy with him.

If he was one of those selfish, radical Tea Party types then he probably stomped the poor hungry alligator to death just so he could avoid giving back to the community.

Poor alligator. Maybe the Democrats and the GOP can take care of him in next year’s budget.

I think he was talked into it by donors who would rather lose with Romney than allow Trump to win.

Nothing more than tinfoil hat stuff. The referenced FEC document is simply an amendment to an earlier filing that changes the addresses of a few contact principles. It does nothing more. It’s just one of many ongoing filings for the ancient, original “ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT, INC.” committee required by the FEC.

That one and many more like it are listed here over the years for anyone who would like to expand their little tinfoil hat conspiracy:

William Jennings Bryan was the Democrat nominee THREE times. Mitt was a nominee only once.

Has ANY other Prez candidate run FOUR times.?

Harold Stassen, 12 times.

Pat Paulsen, in 1968 and every presidential cycle thereafter... until he passed away in 1997.

He may have thought blocking Trump would cause the Convention to give the nomination to him. After all, he was so successful in 2008 and 2012. [/s]

Based on most of the headlines and various comments, his speech yesterday did not go over too well. Many pundits, etc., called it a flop. It may have backfired and done him more damage than Trump.

And, looking around, the deadline for the general election is in the summer in (probably) all states.
So getting on the ballot isn’t that difficult for a candidate after all!

But he’d get the kind of people who’ll vote for the down-ticket RINOs to show up.
That’s what the GOPe is concerned about- even if it means Hillary wins.

FED papers show a file date of Jan 30,2016-——34 days ago.

Sure explains why both of them are suddenly coming out & bashing Trump.

Neither one has/had the balls to tell us they had filed such papers, tho, did they?

More TREACHERY from the ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS.

You want Republican voters to trust you both?

On what planet???
