If Cruz wants to be the nominee, he needs to go to WISC and PENN and California, etc. and win the primaries.
It might be useful to study 1976 ... Reagan's effort to swing the PENN delegates to him by choosing Richard Schweiker as his VP. It failed.
And study the #NeverJimmy movement in 1976 as Frank Church, Jerry Brown and Mo Udall chased Carter through all the primaries. Carter was LOSING primaries, yet #NeverJimmy failed.
It is a flop because Romney has small hands....

Romney nonsense:

It is a flop because this election is about national borders and ejecting people who shouldn’t be here.
Globalist versus nationalists.
Romney’s record is that of another globalist.
After last night looks like Rubio is done after FL while Kaisch may, or may not, win OH.
What is your take on how that effects the race?
Why doesn’t this guy just change parties already and get it over with?
A Romney by any other name is a Democrat
As the other thread stated Romney did not last 24 hours. I bet he did not expect all the incoming fire.
I am a Cruz fan for Trump. Cruz is exactly like me politically and theologically, and I am unelectable because we are doubly-despised, by at least 6 of the 8 socio-political elements of 2016 America. We comprise no more than 33% of the electorate. 67% have no use for us.
Romney's speech was momentous if my take on it is correct. He seemed to have given 19 minutes of insulting chaff in order to insert 1 minute of dastardly strategems: he said, "All Cruz and Rubio supporters, vote for Kasich in Ohio." And "All Kasich and Cruz supporters, vote for Rubio in Florida." The idea is that by voting this way, Trump could be denied the two winner-take-all states. That is a VERY establishment ploy.
Romney's strategem, if followed, is the only chance the others have of prolonging this race beyond Mar 15, and to (possibly) create an open convention. It is an operation chaos against one's own party. I think it is dirty pool, but, I guess, what the hey? That's all the establishment has left, and chicken-manure strategies are their stock in trade.
As I recall, at the end of the 1976 primary process, Jimmy Carter had a plurality but not a majority of delegates selected. But then, various Democrats started putting support behind him, so that by the time of the convention, Carters nomination was not in doubt.
I knew from the outset that Romney was going to swoop in at the last second and offer himself as a “compromise” candidate if the primaries did not result in a winner. So it’s no surprise.
Butt out, Romney!
Jeb? Out. Romney? Self-inflicted head wound. Whatever else is going on, the Pubbies are revoking their legacy candidate policy. Dems are doubling down.
The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, and every liberal newspaper in the Country are supporting the quisling Romney.
Romney must be so proud... he who was totally impotent against Obama and Hillary has finally found his voice fighting the Republican front runner.
