WASHINGTON — A Green Beret selected last year for involuntary separation from the Army because he hit an admitted child rapist in Afghanistan will remain with the service at least two more months.
However, some lawmakers in Congress have said the Army’s decision this week to postpone a verdict on Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland’s future with the service is not enough.
“It is unfathomable that the Pentagon has yet to reinstate Sgt. Martland,” Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., said in a statement released Tuesday, when the Army’s decision on the soldier’s future had been due. “The Defense Department has had several months and several opportunities to right this wrong. I’m concerned that bureaucratic red tape is blocking common-sense action.”
The Army on Monday granted Martland, an 11-year veteran of Army special forces who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan, an extension through May 1 to allow the Army’s Board for Correction of Military Records to consider his case, said Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson, an Army spokeswoman. It was the second time the Army delayed a determination on Martland for 60 days

If this soldier had been serving in Putin’s Army and protected a child from being raped, Mr. Putin would be pinning a medal on him.
Trump should give the Sgt a call, find out just WHO in his chain of command is responsible for this travesty, and put THEM on a list for involuntary separation, effective the day after he assumes office.
Don’t expect the GOP to fight for him, they can only fight us voters and Trump. No fight for 7 years and now they fight us.

When you consider the creature who is Commander in Chief, thanks to dirtbags like Paul Ryan and John Boehner who lack the guts to impeach him, there is no surprise here. If Donald Trump was Speaker of the House, Obama’s carcass would be sitting in Fort Leavenworth by now.
And on top of that, there are brave men sitting in Levenworth because they killed a middle-easterner who they assessed as a threat of a suicide bomber. Delaying the killing could have cost many American soldiers lives.
Every one of those who are persecuting this warrior for defending the defenseless should be kicked out of the military and their pensions forfeited. They are not fit to wear the uniform of the USA, much less lead better men than themselves. We will contact our Congressman and Sen. Cruz with that strong opinion.

Trainees are violently raped as part of showing how to dominate while training. Tons of rapes happen in the soviet military.

yea I am fuming with them and my anger has not subsided at all from this morning.
I’m tempted to say that if I was SFC Martland’s CO I might give him an Article 15 NJP (like KP for two days) for letting the Afghan POS live.
But then I’d give him an extra ARCOM to ease the impact.

That was the story in the 70s and 80s. My personal propaganda fave was Iraqi soldiers throwing babies out of incubators. Or German soldiers catching Belgian babies on bayonets.
