Report: Fox News "Finished With Rubio"
thehill.com ^ | March 2

Posted on 03/03/2016 4:12:26 AM PST by Helicondelta

Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio’s rough week got worse on Wednesday with a New York Magazine report that the head of Fox News has decided to stop giving the Florida senator prominent, favorable coverage.

"We're finished with Rubio," Roger Ailes told one of the network’s hosts recently, according to three unnamed sources. "We can't do the Rubio thing anymore."

The report says Ailes was angry about a New York Times article reporting on a dinner he and the Florida senator had in 2013. Rubio was asking the Fox chief for his support of the Gang of Eight immigration bill.

...

Rupert Murdoch, the founder of Fox News, said earlier on Wednesday that if front-runner Donald Trump were to become the Republican nominee, the “party would be mad not to unify.”

Everyone mentioned as being at the meeting is angry. As I understand, it was a meeting to TRY to garner support for the bill, but most there rejected the overture.

Why does this sound like a hoax.

Yep, it does appear that Cruz is more up to DOING THE DIRTY WORK of depriving Trump a delegate majority - so that Romney can be selected by the GOPe at the convention.

I guess Cruz is just so sick of Trump that he doesn’t care who he gets in bed with.

Bummer.

Why did they have anything to do with him in first place? Why is a news organization trying to create presidents and set policy?

They’ve sh** where they eat. Why I don’t watch Fox anymore.

Well, the quote from Murdoch is definetely true. He posted it on Twitter.

And many Fox viewers have noticed that the pro Rubio propaganda died down in the last few days.

We will verify this report this evening at the debate.

If the Fox News Ferret, Megan-the-Whore Kelly’s gotcha, cheap shot questions are absent, then Fox is seeing the light.

I stopped watching them long ago when it was clear we are governed by a uniparty and Fox was leading the charge.

...so that Romney can be selected by the GOPe at the convention

If this truly is the GOPe's plan, it would show just how disconnected they are from the electorate. They truly have entered "let them eat cake" territory in their befuddlement.

Certainly was a change this morning. Still Fox has no credibility.

Since Iowa, Cruz has shown the world that he is a Harvard-educated lawyer and DC politician.

I am so damned disappointed with him. I saw him and Trump as the team to lead us out of the hole that the DC Uni-Party put us into over the past 50-years.

I just wish he could stand up to the American people and admit that he had been suckered into his recent behavior, cease the “Elmer Gantry” imitation, and ask for another, fresh start. I believe all of America could give it to him.

“If this truly is the GOPe’s plan, it would show just how disconnected they are from the electorate.”

They certainly are. And STUPIDLY their plan was to have Rubio stop Trump and throw it to the convention...apparently not even considering that most of Cruz’s people would move to Trump.

At least now, by accident, they have someone that has a fighting chance of actually slowing Trump down enough - even if they got him by accident.

I’m just HOPING that Cruz figures out just how badly he’s being used, but it doesn’t appear that way.

Doesn’t it fit what we’ve been hearing? That someone needs to drop out to allow a face to face with Trump? Appears Fox has made their choice as to the “who” needs to be.

Of course Faux News is “finished with Rubio” and they will remain so right up until they see backing Senior Amnesty might be able to hurt Trump.

Could be that Fox has seen a slippage in their numbers? Always follow the money and you’ll NEVER go wrong.

A news organization that wants lasting respect should report honestly about everyone - even Amnesty shills like Rubio, even a “severe conservative” like Romney, even a serial felon like Hillary. Report the facts, even about Cruz and Trump, and let the chips fall where they may.

Ailes needs to either stop watching Citizen Kane or watch it through to its bitter end. At the end of his life, will he be whispering “Trump” rather than “Rosebud”??
