“Good point. I often note that the media is advertizing supported, so everything they do is to that end. The program content is just a means of getting us to watch the commercials, and the more provocative and intriguing they can make it, the more likely it is we will do so.”

I asked a good who was a media program director why the weatherman was the last part of the 6PM news. His answer? The majority only watches to get the weather report. You put the weatherman on first and you won’t have anyone watching the commercials and no one will advertise on your station.

Where do you live? Out here in the Midwest, weather is usually in the first few minutes followed by lengthier report about halfway through the local news.
