I think conservatives and Americans as a whole feel their votes should count, and thus a brokered convention is just another way for the elite Ruling Class to subvert the will of We the People.
Interesingly, Ginsburg explains that even this “triple bank shot” would involve a massive effort at the STATE level. He said nothing that would indicate that such a plan is in operation, only that both sides understood how it worked.
What WAS said is that there’s a new SuperPAC being formed to Stop Trump through negative ads on TV, etc. This is a big expenditure that seemingly would not help much to lobby delegates at the state level.
So it seems to me the superPAC strategy is disconnected from the only long-shot process which can potentially deny Trump the nomination through a brokered convention.
“I think conservatives and Americans as a whole feel their votes should count, and thus a brokered convention is just another way for the elite Ruling Class to subvert the will of We the People.”
It would have that effect and even Maddow pointed that out.
IMHO, this ‘brokered convention’ is more for the benefit of the media elites than anything else. They talk about it for two reasons.
First, just think how self-serving all this media talk is. Keeps you tuned in, doesn’t it.
Second, just think how self-serving all this media talk is. There is simply nothing that would boost their ratings and increase their sense of importance than a ‘brokered convention’. The news channels would be 24/7 with interviews including the janitor who thinks he might have heard something from someone who might be important talking about how the junior assistant sub-chairman from Ohio has stomach distress from eating at Taco Bell and how this might or might not affect when Kasich releases his delegates.
The Republican Party is, as we speak, fully mobilized in each state with every delegate to turn the delegate, flip him, bribe him, blackmail him, replace him, disqualify him. Don’t underestimate the threat that Trump represents to the Uniparty and the Washington Political Class, Donor Class, lobbyists, bureaucrats, government controlled media, etc.
