That’s why [Steve] House and his predecessor, Ryan Call, are calling for going to a presidential primary.

Wow! These guys are singing a different tune than the one they were chanting when they spoke at a Mesa County Republican Party luncheon when they were running for state chair. If even these guys are starting to crack, maybe there's hope.

I watched Ryan Call just before 1:00 MST this morning and he couldn’t have been more WRONG about Colorado Caucus turnout.

I’m District Captain and this was by far the HIGHEST turnout we’ve had in 16 years.

Ryan was bashing the decision of the guy who beat him, and he wants his chair back.

This was NOT a “GOP maneuver to keep party from making pick for president”!

This was a reasoned response by Colorado to address RNC rules.
The preferred approach would have been for a revision of RNC rules, but Colorado doesn’t have that leverage.

It is true that we’re not happy with that net result, but it was NOT some attempt at disenfranchisement!

Is there any idea who most of the Colorado delegates will be pledged to? I understand they can ultimately vote for any candidate.

This is a pretty Conservative County and Cruz has the edge here.

Although we didn’t have a Straw Poll, there was plenty of discussion.

Yet somehow, Colorado seems to be the only state in the country that is totally screwed with respect to picking presidential candidates. I believe this is because the state has screwed itself.

The day of the monthly luncheon when our newly-elected county executive board expressed their continued support for this corrupt and unrepresentative system was the day I went home in disgust and re-registered Unaffiliated. I'd been contemplating doing so for months; but that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

“continued support for this corrupt and unrepresentative system”

That is NOT the motivation!

The issue is dealing with 2 elements:

1-RNC rules on committed delegates,
2-Cost of running a Primary

The answer is to get over the “cost” and return to the Presidential Primary.

Colorado has no Republican Party.

There is no description for the collection of GOP idiots and losers in CO who have managed to give this state to the Denver People’s Party.

I agree we should scrap the caucus. We went last night. They asked for volunteers to be delegates. Then for volunteers for alternates.

After that they asked for resolutions for the platform. Several ideas were put forth and voted up or down.

After that a motion to adjourn.

So the actual candidates were not discussed and I have no idea who the delegates intend to support.

I just want to cast my primary ballot. I don’t recall when Colorado switched to the caucus system, but I wonder how that coincides with the change from red to purple.

“I believe this is because the state has screwed itself.”

It’s because primaries cost the State over $5 million and the education nitwits have gobbled up just about penny they can get their hands on. “Who needs primaries when it’s those stupid Republicans spending all that money.”
