Could a George Washington run for President in today's' USA?

George Washington's clone would have hard time in today's political climate, especially if he wanted to be president. The globalist controlled world would try to crush the father of our country in ways King George III could never have dreamed of.

The man who warned of foreign entanglements would find a country enmeshed in foreign trade, wars and politics the likes of which would make old Georges wooden teeth fly out of his mouth. What happened to protectionism? Why is industry shutting down in the USA and off shored for labor arbitrage under the guise of government regulatory burdens? Regulations are bad and must be fought when found onerous but lowering barriers to importation after off shoring for cheap foreign labor is destroying the USA. George would be floored that is happening and the supposed Conservative party is all for it. The whole point of separation from GB was due to British Mercantilism which killed any attempt at industrialization.

What is with visas for foreign workers? George signed the Naturalization Act which put a heavy burden on the applicant to become an American citizen. George again would be appalled.

No, George Washington's clone would not be considered a conservative he would probably be more in line with Donald Trump then Ted Cruz.

Run yes. But probably be beaten down by some one yelling and calling him a loser for brandywine.

No. He would be to the right of Cruz, and if Cruz isn’t “electable” by a lot of estimates, why would Washington?

George Washington would be sickened and disgusted by today’s America. He would think it unworthy of his efforts.

Far too reckless! Marine crossing at Trenton ! Doubled down on his obvious error marching on to Princeton ! Didn’t care enough for his troops at Valley Forge ! Sold out to the French at Yorktown !

On this would agree.

Why settle for a clone when you can have the original?

Television changed everything. A lot of our great Presidents could never have won in the post-TV era. Lincoln looked terrible and had a high squeaky voice. He never would have made it to Super Tuesday.

No one ran against George. He got all the votes. The second vote was for VP.

Well Washington only got something like 43,000 votes.

Of course he won 100% to 0%

George Washington would think he had landed on an alien planet.

He would need a couple years to overcome the PTSD, and get to grips with how his little country changed into the vast American Progressive-Left Empire

He’s a possible dictator and he quoted Caesar.

Also, he owns lots of real estate.

Bad signs.
