This is very scary stuff. Trump is now threatening news organizations that he thinks have covered him unfairly. This is a very scary time for our Republic. Here is one of Trump’s quotes from the Article - I agree with much of the first part of his quote but look at the threat he makes in the second paragraph - it is chilling.

At issue is the higher burden placed on defamation suits when related to “public” officials and figures.

There are no federal libel laws, so I am not sure what Trump is going on about, unless he wants to violate the 10th Amendment in addition to the 1st Amendment.

2. Under existing law, if there is proof of knowing or reckless disregard for the truth, you can already sue and recover damages.
