SALEM MA— A Salem Superior Court judge has sentenced Philip Chism to life in prison with eligibility of parole after 25 years in the murder of Danvers High School teacher Colleen Ritzer.
Chism, however, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for each rape and robbery count.
This means Chism, 17, won't be able to seek parole until he is 54 years old.
Prosecutors wanted Chism to spend at least 50 years in prison for Ritzer’s rape, robbery and murder before he is eligible to seek parole.
His attorneys wanted Salem Superior Court Judge David Lowy to impose a sentence that would let Chism seek parole by the age of 40.
Friday's sentencing hearing began with victim impact statements from Ritzer's parents, siblings, friends, aunt, cousin and a preschool teacher, who remembered Ritzer as a joyful young woman who loved life and loved her job as a math teacher at Danvers High School.
I remember this, he followed her and it was caught on video. Why this animal is getting anything even remotely related to parole is beyond, me. The only thing he deserves is at the end of a noose.

Chism told the investigators that the karate chop knocked her out. He said he put his hand over her mouth and “dragged†the box cutter across her throat. The first time did not break the skin, he said. A second wound across the neck killed her, Chism told the investigators.
Anything but “old age”.
I'll go even better than that....I think he deserves the hot squat.However,recent SCOTUS rulings say 1) that you can't give the DP to one whose crime occurred when he/she was under 18 and 2) that you can't give a defendant life without parole when the crime occurred when he/she was under 18.
This punk was 14.
So the sentence...this time,at least...isn't the Gay State's fault.

Now, if the yute had done this to a judge's or a DA's daughter, well, now - if he hadn't "committed suicide" in the first month, it would have been the Bullet Train to riding Ol' Sparky, or however they kill them these days.
I myself figure part of it is The System taunting the survivors with the knowledge that the trash should have been taken out IMMEDIATELY, but the stinking aroma of the rotting trash is left to remind them how powerless they are...

I hope the scumbag doesn’t last a week in prison before a shiv finds a place in his heart. It’s simply not justice to allow the lowlife to live after what he did to that lady.
