In an interview with WSJ reporter Kelly Evans, potential presidential candidate Donald Trump claims he only supports Libyan intervention provided the U.S. can "take the oil." He also warns of Iran controlling Iraq's oil if the U.S. doesn't secure it first.

In the video Trump warns that the rebels are linked to bad actors in the region and are unknown quantities so not to be trusted.
So Trump would like to turn the United States into a nation of pirates.

Libya was one of the success stories of the Iraq war. When Qaddafi saw what happened to Saddam Hussein he back down and became the United States I live. We were sending him money right up until the time we invaded.

There is a tweet somewhere from 2011 where Trump accurately states this Libyan invasion is a mistake.

We should do on a humanitarian basis, immediately go into Libya, knock this guy out very quickly, very surgically, very effectively, and save the lives.”

Trump have been consistent. He always against wars, BUT if we do invade, we need something out of it. He doesn’t believe in one sided deals where others get a country and US get nothing out of it
Remember, the assassination of Ghadaffi was illegal. IIRC, Obama took the whole thing on by himself...ignoring Congress.
What was that other guy who needed oil for his empire, was in North Africa, then we chased him out. So he evaded Russia to get to oil..... who was that guy???
No I’m not a new deal Democrat but I’m someone who is very proud of what our country had and I don’t know why people like you were trying to disparage it. We didn’t ask England or France or the Jews to pay for this like you’re claiming.

But ask yourself, China gets its oil from Libya. They are the largest customer. Why aren't they involved? Why is the United States footing a bill over a billion dollars so far and China is not involved? Why isn't Saudi Arabia and the so-called Arab league who is now gone, we don't hear from them anymore, why isn't the Arab League paying us for this?

I’m not a big fan of trump but I agree with him. This bullsh*t about nation building is nonsense.
We’re the ones spilling blood in wars and we’re supposed to take nothing from it? The oil refineries including contracts from iraq were given to cowardly countries who didnt back us up AND they were not awarded to the US. Take their oil and fund our military, PC off/
I think his plan was to invade Russia for geo political reasons. I think he’s plan was to invade Russian 4G a political reasons. Oil was just a downfall. He could have made the decision to go over to the caucus is to try to get will but he didn’t.

I don’t think you saw the exact context of the earlier post. Trump was the one who originally called for the Libya invasion and said we should take their oil.
