With less than a week before election day, Donald Trump is widening his lead in Oklahoma's Republican primary race, according to a poll released Wednesday.

The real estate mogul is holding an eight-point lead over Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, with 29 percent to Rubio's 21 percent, according to the poll. That lead has widened from just 5 percent two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Rubio has overtaken Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who was in second place two weeks ago with 25 percent. Cruz polled at 20 percent in this week's poll.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson came in fourth, with 6 percent, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich was fifth, with 5 percent. Another 18 percent told pollsters they remained undecided, and 2 percent said they planned to vote for another candidate.

This is not a huge lead and was taken before Trump's landslide win in Nevada. But they found him grow from a 5-point lead 2 weeks ago to an 8-point lead today. That's not to bad for an evangelical state like Oklahoma.

I’d prefer a larger Trump lead...esp in OK.

I can understand the appeal of CanuckTed....but how in the heck is RubiNO polling so high?

Trump is basically at the same level he was two weeks ago, one point down. Rubio is exactly where he was two weeks ago. Cruz has dropped five points. 18% remains undecided, ten points higher than two weeks ago. Oklahoma appears to be a race that will be decided in the last 48 hours by the undecideds. Tomorrow’s debate could have a significant impact.

I would too, but Oklahoma is one of the most conservative states in the nation which may reduce Trump's potential lead a bit (it shouldn't, I know). That said, I think he'll win Oklahoma.

It is the most conservative state in the country and we pretty much like it that way. Also has good BBQ!

His win in Nevada will give Trump a larger lead...he’ll win by 10-12 points.

Of the states where Cruz would be best suited on Super Tuesday, you’d figure Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas would be the top three. He’s leading in TX. Last poll had Cruz up in Arkansas.

A third place in OK would not bode well.
