i think you’re right.
This way they will try to say, “we’re listening to you fellow conservatives” After they cave, it will, “we were listening to the will of the American people”
D-bags...every one of them.

Republicans are like bears in the fall.
Noisy, scary, mean, strong, powerful....just before they cave.

McConnell: "Senate Will Withhold Consent Of Any Obama SCOTUS Nominee" Which is Mitch-speak for "We won't roll over right away. We may wait a week or two."
To: Bullish
Mitch will start to cave when Orrin tells him it’s time to do so.

Disagree with that strategy. Saying that he should send over the name of a nominee already opens the door to the implication that you will conduct hearings. This feeds the Rats and their yapping poodles in the MSM with an opening to bitch and moan 24/7 about Republican treachery, Republican dirty tricks, Republican obstructionism (they’ll have that one anyway, but let them blow about it at the outer gate of the rhetoric war). Any step you let them advance turns up the pressure another notch. They must be fought for every inch of the political terrain.

That's what I thought, too, but I figured I'd put the idea out there anyway.

JewishRighter...I see what you are saying.
I think by playing it cool and calm the Republicans can shape the discussion much like the narrative Axeslinger illustrated in Post# 28 above.

Exactly what I was thinking. Trump told him don’t even think about confirming Obama nominee. Trump can win without conservative base and if they stay home McConnell’s back to Senate Minority Leader.

Axeslinger: You are badly needed on Capitol Hill.

I sure am praying hard; all the wrongs McConnell has done - he can be a hero or simply be the one that brought down the country.

Ha! Thx but I have far too many principles that I won’t abandon. And watching how even FR treats a conservative with principles....think I’ll pass.

"Republicans should have just remained QUIET regarding the whole topic of Supreme Court Justice appointment. Why telegraph what we are going to do?"By stating that they won't consider ANY nominations, they take away the leftist argument that they are "racist" and "sexist" after Obama nominates Loretta Lynch.

There is no need to panic when being called "racist" or "sexist" any longer. It has zero impact. People say it everyday. Those terms are threadbare.
Republicans *are* prone to being called "the party of NO!" and similar by walking into this easily-avoided Democrat trap.
Republicans should have just quietly run down the clock until summertime when awaiting the autumn election would have been WAY more plausible. We blew it.
