145 Cuban migrants stranded in Panama get permits to continue journey to U.S.

More than 100 Cuban migrants from among the 1,300 stranded in Panama on Sunday received immigration permits that early next week will allow them to travel legally to Mexico, where they will be able to continue their land journey to the United States.

This is the first group to resume their trek from Panama to the United States after Costa Rica closed its border in December saying it was unable to continue housing the more than 7,000 Cubans who were also trying to make it to the United States but who had been stranded there after being denied passage through Nicaragua.

A bus - costing $13.50 per person - will await them in Ciudad Juarez, where the authorities will see to it that they arrive in El Paso, Texas, Isabel Cristina Perez, one of the migrants, told EFE.

Once they get to Ciudad Juarez, the Cubans will receive a visitors document as a humanitarian gesture giving them 20 days to cross into the United States, an official with the Mexican National Immigration Institute told EFE last Thursday.

Is this a free pass to legally enter the USA, or just a pass from Mexico good to stay there for 20 days to swim across the Rio Grande?

I thought the US and Cuba were friends now. Why is there a need for cubans to “escape paradise” now?

Well they can’t be coming here for the healthcare...at least that’s what Michael Moore told me.

Maybe these Obama communists' bus will be caught in a mountain landslide on the way.

I don't see anything that says the United States is involed. The Mexican permit is a get out of jail free card giving them 20 days to leave the country or be subject to imprisonment for breaking Mexico's strict illegal immigration laws.

But I'm also sure that a bus full of Cubans can just drive up to the port of entry and claim asylum in the US and after processing, be released into thr US while their application is reviewed.

The scary thing is that Cubans, Mexicans, etc. know what the 'secret agreements' are but keep it amongst themselves. Kind of like 9/11 terrorists aware of an attack plot but successfully keep it secret.

This isn't something new. I have a friend who works for the TSA at St. Petersburg, FL airport and he and his fellow agents have been seeing Cubans coming into their airport from Texas with whatever documents are required that have been issued out of Brownsville, Texas........

Once in Florida they proceed to their final destination (presumably a relative or friend of their family) and are immediately eligible for welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security and free housing........

A bus? LOL. All they have to do is walk across the bridge to get from Juarez to E.P.! I've done so a number of times (back in the '80s).

All that free health care, the standard of living, the exceptional civil rights, the magnanimous government, they must feel guilty having it so good.

Hey, obozo can just bring a bunch of them back with him from Cuba next month. He could press Air Force One into business and save them all the laborious trip....There’s time to make lots of trips between March 2016 and January 2017...JERK!

“”These “emigrants” must be insane. Just why are they leaving the workers’ paradise of Cuba???””

Perhaps there’s been a deal made between them and the celebrities and politicians that have heaped praises on that country for years. We’d probably be better off with that kind of trade.
