Jeb! Puts Himself Out Of His Misery
Daily Beast ^ | 2/20/16 | Betsy Woodruff

It ended without an exclamation point.

On a mild Saturday night in South Carolina, Jeb Bush took to the stage at his victory party (using those two words in the least literal sense) and told supporters that he was out.

It wasn't supposed to be this way. When Jeb jumped in, Tea Partiers panicked and grassroots conservatives lit their hair on fire. He carried an air of inevitability after all-at its onset, his campaign practically drowned in shock-and-awe money and big name endorsements.

But from its inception, there were cracks. When he spoke at CPAC a few months before his announcement, his backers had to bus in Bush fans from K Street and Capitol Hill so he'd have some fans in the audience.

The exclamation mark was the perfect symbol of his pretensious irrelevance.

I think Jeb put himself out of our misery.

I’m glad too see he finally wised up,because he didn’t have a prayer to win this nomination to be President.

Yeb! and the GOPe spent (wasted) $150 million.

The only reason anybody spends that much money on an election is if they plan on stealing $150 billion from the taxpayers after they win the election.

P!SS on Yeb! and good riddance.

Jeb’s campaign was out of money. No hard dollars left. All spent.

I have my questions about Trump.

But he and he alone kicked Yebbie and them right back in the bushes where they belong.

No one else even dared try.

I really thought he was the chosen one and could get all the money he wanted.

"When Jeb jumped in, Tea Partiers panicked and grassroots conservatives lit their hair on fire. He carried an air of inevitability after all-at its onset..."

In what alternate reality is this writer living? Almost everyone not working for or supporting Jeb! were mocking him and laughing at his ineptitude from day one.

Jeb will be happier going forward. He looked better even as he gave his goodbye speech. Everyone could see that his heart wasn’t committed to this campaign, especially against a Trump, or a Cruz type. He’s a gentle man. Rubio and Carson are his equal in temperament.

I recall innumerable tiresome posts telling us that the establishment would force Bush on us, suggesting we were powerless to prevent it. Hopefully those who held such views have learned something.

Yep!

And you have to admit, if it hadn’t been for Donald Trump, Jeb would be picking out drapery materials for the Oval Office now.

Trump is the only one who said it the way it is: Bush IS low-energy, even his stupid turtle analogy proved it. Thanks to Trump we are seeing the end of political correctness and hopefully, the end of the elitist GOP, which has long ago dropped the mantle of conservatism and common sense-ism and become the whore of the cheap labor express. Bush was the engineer driving that train but not it’s off the rails and Jeb!’s campaign is dead.

Go Trump!

He looked like a 10,000 lb. weight was off his shoulders for the first time - he was his natural self - a not-unlikeable guy.

The drive of the candidacy drove him to try to be what he is not - a natural leader, nor a true conservative - but a typical GOPe guy. He really is a Type B personality -and trying to fake it as a Type A just doesn’t work.

Too bad it took him so long to get to his decision - could have saved a lot of us a lot of time, and a lot of fools money - but then, that’s what fools do - throw away money.....

The GOP establishment hasn’t learned a thing... now they want to shove Boobio down our throats.

These people live in a bubble and their disconnect from the country shows they haven’t a clue as to what’s going on around them.

Cutting deals with Obama wasn’t what the American people were looking for in a presidential candidate.

I just wish the GOP would die.
