The Pope has questioned US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's Christianity over his call to build a border wall with Mexico.

Pope Francis said "a person who thinks only about building walls... and not of building bridges, is not Christian".

The New York businessman supports deporting nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants.

Calling himself a "proud Christian", Mr Trump blamed Mexico for the Pope's remarks, calling them "disgraceful".

He is a Marxist/socialist activist in sheep's clothing , taking advantage of a built in following of millions of loyal believers . Shame shame shame on him . He is not God's emissary

why is the pope singling out Trump when four of the six candidates all support a border wall? are the rest of the candidates ‘not christian’ too? or just the anglo candidate?

Being Christian has nothing to do with your opinion on immigration. The Pope is a UN-manipulated fool.

Trump is probably not a Christian, judging by his personal life and track record, and just discovered when he started to run for President that he was a Presbyterian (his mother was from Scotland). But his opinion on immigration is irrelevant.

I wish the Pope would come out as strong against abortion and Muslim terrorists as he does against Donald Trump.

I’m not a fan of this pope.

3 quotes (one of these things is not like the other):

“For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian,” Mr Trump said. “No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith.”

“How can Ted Cruz be an evangelical Christian when he lies so much and is so dishonest?”

“To the best of my knowledge, not too many evangelicals come out of Cuba, OK? Just remember that, OK? Just remember,...”

Does he not consider himself a “leader”?

All this does is drive more people away from religion.

As do the “you hate Jesus if you don’t vote for Trump” comments that are allowed here.

Excellent point. Why not Cruz who has stated he already has the law and funds on his side and will build the wall.

And I am sure Pope Francis will issue a similar statement on Bernie and Hillary for their support of abortion.... wait for it.... wait........ wait......

oh well, we can have a little fun with this too...

“Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.”

FOX (Murdoch’s army) just could not wait to bash Trump about his response to the leftist Pope’s political commentary on the Mexican border. Really disappointing but Murdoch’s politics are all over this. Too bad.

Pope Francis,

Christianity has to do with THE CROSS, not the wall.

Why would this Pope be concerned? Didn’t he earlier state that good atheists could go to heaven?
