Six months ago every talking head on TV and print media was decrying the Trump proposal to build a border wall as impossible hyperbole. It is amazing just how far the conversation has turned.

Yesterday CNN ran a segment on how the border wall would possibly be constructed, what materials would be used, and how much it would potentially cost.

If I were going to find funds to build a wall between the US and Mexico, I’d ask Congress (the House) to introduce a US currency expatriation charge to ALL transfers of funds to persons or banks in Mexico by individuals.

Suppose you build the wall and Mexico pays for that wall, all and good. However, I would like to (politely) ask Mr. Trump about what he will then do about people who simply want to stay home and collect welfare and watch television and screw around on social media all day long instead of working.

I think the capitol building construction is a cost overrun siphon. Lets check to see of they are all reparation minority contractors. I also think this has another side, deliberaltey covering the symbol of the free world

He’ll only build something if he can make it the “Trump Border Wall and High Stakes Casino.”

First off no portland cement from china, build a plant near the border, Brownsville? Near a port, rail and interstate.

In the high volumne illegalnimmigrant transit areas set up security first for the workers.

Set up pre cast yards so the panels don’t have to be shipped far, use mobile batch plants.

I have geen building concrete batching equipment, pre cast and running mixers for 20 years, its very doable.

The key is this, it does not need to be a massive wall every single inch of the border.

If you take the $25 Billion in outbound remittances, and you apply a small 4% surcharge for each wire transfer to Mexico, that surcharge would net $1 Billion/year. Multiplied over ten years (budget requirement) that means $10 Billion into the U.S. treasury from the surcharge fee.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't President Trump also talking about rounding up illegals by the millions and shipping them south as fast as he possibly can? Which means that if he is successful then the remittances being sent to Mexico should be drying up to a trickle within a year or two or three. So that means that this plan would generate maybe one or two billion before going away. Where is the rest of the money going to come from?

The wall could pay for itself, we could make it a tourist attraction like the Great Wall of China, we call it the Great Trump Wall

Fencing already largely exists where the terrain will allow it and the land isn’t privately owned.

Mexicans own most of the cement business in the US.
Mexicans are most of the construction labor in the US.
If building a wall with US cement and US labor costs 10x per foot and building that same wall with Mexican cement and Mexican labor costs only 4x per foot, is not Mexico then paying for most of the cost of building the wall?

No Man’s Land & Laser Beam.

They have laser beams detectors that open doors in super markets.

use eminent domain to seize a 20 yd strip (”public use” NOT “public benefit”) along the border.
String the beam detectors across the border.
ANYTHING, Animal/Vegetable/Mineral, that crosses the beam gets shot/electrocuted/ebola’d whatever demise you choose.

Nothing more than a High School science project.

Go the Full Monty and build a few stone-block machine gun towers. Maybe use locally sourced adobe since it’s in the desert.
Put a big golden “T” on top of each one.

“Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards - of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.”

You are making he assumption the means to pay for it would be entirely on the transfer fees. Look more to how US companies manufacturing in foreign counties for tax free imports back here will be impacted greatly. And that is just for starters.

Capital Gains elimination or dramatic reductions along with higher thresholds, Corporate Tax restructure (because corporations don’t pay taxes, their customers do). It is a far bigger and dynamic picture than just one color source.

In other words, all of the crap sandwiches that have been piled onto the producers of all wage income levels for decades. Key words here, wage income.
