So, Cruz is declining among Evangelicals. That’s interesting. Glenn Beck has informed us that Cruz has been sent by God to guide us thru the Rapture, and Heidi has said that Ted will show us the face of God. I guess they must be wrong.

It looks like it’s over. Trump didn’t go down after the debate that so many said was the death of him.

The truth is, and it is verifiable from any Marine or Soldier, the military is tired of 15 years of war that we’re not trying to win.

They know there was no point they could walk down a street alone in Iraq. They know that war was not won at ANY point.

Talking heads be damned. They did a great job with their hands tied behind their backs with silly ROEs, with Bush prosecuting them for clearing out enemies like at Haditha, with the nation continuing one with business as usual while they were dying and being maimed in the field. But they also know that the politicians wouldn’t let them fight, and the politicians refused to let them win.

Our warriors are not stupid. May the political leaders get a taste of their own stupid medicine some day.

I just heard Trump say on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo in a discussion about the Second Amendment(Trump is adamantly pro-2A and is worried about any Obama SCOTUS nomination weakening or overturning the Second Amendment):

Bartiromo(paraphrase): “How do you get the Republicans to delay or refuse to confirm Obama’s SCOTUS nomination without appearing as an obstructionist?”

Trump: “Who cares about being an obstructionist? I’m concerned about preserving the Second Amendment and making it stronger!”

Bartiromo’s jaw dropped to her chest.

This is why Trump is leading in the polls. It’s as simple as that.

Cruz looks to be slipping. I guess outside of FR, which appears to have gone half-GOPe buying into all of his lies, people are smarter.

Isn’t it Cruz who is now framing the race as “believers vs non-believers”? I believe there’s an article on that here at FR.

euram: Cruz is declining among Evangelicals

That was what I found interesting, too. That very slight decline is from 2/8 until 2/14, a time when Cruz has been pandering to Evangelicals while at the same time his "push it to the limit" campaign techniques are getting publicity.

I'm wondering if it isn't Cruz who has an upper boundary of how much support he can garner. If FR is any gauge, as quickly as he gets new supporters, he loses previous ones.

Well, here it is. I really didn’t think that Cruz would go this far but he did. He has used the Christian faith as a tool in a political battle. I suppose that many won’t find this at all as appalling as I do. It goes against everything my Christian background has ever led me to believe is acceptable. Cruz has, indeed, set himself up as the only candidate that a “real Christian” may vote for and still be in good standing. It makes me ill! How many times in my life have I heard a crooked, lying “man of God” mislead and harm those who are meek and malleable?

The person whose spiritual well being I fear the most for is Cruz himself. Trump is a flawed human being like all of us and doesn’t claim to be anything else. Cruz is setting himself up as the only “savior” for Christians in America.

I have a theory on this. Cruz is in a no-win with evangelicals. In IA he ran kind of as the "holy" or "puritan" candidate, which got him tons of support. But it's a somewhat narrow base. To expand his base he has to attack Trump---but when you do attack ads, and "dirty tricks," (which I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH (it's politics), those rub the "holier-than-thou" crowd the wrong way. So whatever he gains with the non "HTT groups," he loses with his HTT base. I said this at the time. By positioning himself that way he was hurting his campaign---but I don't know if he could have won IA any differently. Since Trump got an astonishing 38,000 votes in IA (many more than Santorum) I doubt it.

It took nine posts before a rabid Cruzbot weighed in. That’s got to be a record. Perhaps is was a shift change?

Graph indicates Trump can’t break 40, Cruze can’t break 20, and evangelicals leaving Cruz and going nowhere.

Why are you surprised? I called this a long time ago. When Ted’s dad says he is a “king” “ordained to REIGN OVER AMERICA,” well, does anyone think that doesn’t scare people?

When he separates all voters into “believers and non-believers,” what the heck does he expect? The problem with this division is that as we see right here on FR when you post ANYTHING having to do with religion, if you don’t perfectly conform to some people’s version of faith, you’re de facto a “non-believer.” This was precisely what the Founders-—especially James Madison-—was concerned about. He was a loose Anglican, but feared the narrow definitions (in his view) of the Puritans.

Cruz is declining among Evangelicals? That/s interesting b/c Glenn Beck informed us that Cruz has been sent by God to guide us thru the Rapture, and Cruz/s wife Heidi has said that Ted will show us the face of God. I guess they must be wrong.

And don't forget, Cruz/s preacher father said Ted was the Anointed One.
