Lot’s of politicians preach like this and I see nothing wrong about it (well except Muslim politicians preaching Muslimism of course), but I don’t see how doing this helps Ted. It certainly limits his appeal in any general election, and I seriously doubt it’ll help him in S.C.
Ted’s acting like he’s running for the National Preacher of the United States, not the President of the United States.
It's true that Cruz lies.
Yup, that was a big mistake by Cruz. But he’s still the most consistent conservative in the race.
It's true that Cruz lies. Every bit of it.
According to the polls, Cruz beats Hillary in the general while Trump loses. Trump’s Negatives are sky high.
Yup, because LIAR, LIAR is the best way to get to the bottom of all of this. It’s the Trump way.
Unfortunately for Trump, he’s mad at Cruz for taking 2009Trump seriously. 2016Trump not like that.
Those polls are so wrong.
He’s hated by the left. He’s hated by most in his own party.
Please tell me how he is able to pull ANY independents? He can’t even
sew up support in his own party!!! It’s common sense.
I live in democrat liberal hell here in Northern CA. I have never talked
with a liberal or independent who was even lukewarm on cruz.
This is also a lie since you know he's giving specific examples of Cruz lying, and they're true.
Unfortunately for Trump, heâs mad at Cruz for taking 2009Trump
Cruz is stating his opinions as fact, while telling lies to defend his own record from just a few years ago. For example, Cruz's statement that he "would not have nominated Roberts," even though Cruz called him the "best ever litigator," "second to none," "a true conservative" "like the President who nominated him."
If Cruz is doing good taking Trump in 2009 seriously, how come we can't take Cruz seriously during the same time frame and must believe the lies he's telling today?
Im not very religious. I believe in god but do not attend church. Personally, I have no problem with cruz doing his preaching. However, he is really backing himself into a corner for a general. He’s really screwing himself.
Let me explain one point for you and maybe you can take it from there.
Cruz initially preferred another candidate over Roberts. Once Roberts became the choice, he got behind him.
So, yes, Cruz was saying that as President he would have nominated someone else.
But you and Donald are twisting it to mean that he never supported Roberts after he was nominated. And that’s a lie. See how easy that was?
Are you incoherent? I said big mistake. I didn’t say small things. But he’s still the most consistent conservative in the race. But you don’t address that, because there is no other candidate that has been a more consistent conservative. But you already know that.
This is, in fact, how Cruz meant it to be understood. It was in response to an accusation of "supporting" Roberts. So why would Cruz say something irrelevant "I would not have nominated him" to something factually true "You supported Roberts", if not to lie? That said, it is also a lie that Cruz would not have nominated Roberts. He literally called him "the best ever" litigator and "second to none." Obviously, if Cruz would not have nominated him, it had nothing to do with Cruz doubting his "best ever" ability.
See how these lies work?
Here’s what I think of when I see that picture.
“You supported Roberts.”
“I would not have nominated him.”
Great answer. True. Does not negate the initial premise. It clarifies and expands on it. That’s what people do in debates. He would have nominated Mike Luttig. Nothing unbelievable about that. His followup support of Roberts was the right thing to do at the time.
That’s true, he was, for the period from October 2015 to January 2016. Before that, not so much. After, the act is already starting to fray.
