Republicans need to stop playing defense and play offense.
Use the nuclear option.
Next year with a Republican President and Republican Congress, they should start stacking the Supreme Court with more Justices.
Congress can change the number of justices on the Supreme Court without a Constitutional amendment. They did it several times in the 1800’s. Maybe it’s time they at least doubled the Court to 18. With more members, it wouldn’t be so dependent on one member to tip it this way or that.

What about nuclear options and filibusters and such?

I thought that Supreme Court nominees are handled differently from other presidential nominees?

Also, the GOP is in charge now, not Harry Reid. So the rules of consideration of an Obama nominee will be handled by Republicans, not Harry Reid.

maybe I’m missing somethng.

Obama should do his Constitutional duty and the Senators should do theirs — advise and consent.....just say NO

The Gop Senate had better find their spines or rent some because if they do not stop this nomination they will cease to have any use as a political party.

Some are concerned with the judges Trump might pick, even though he named TWO good conservative picks in the debate.. Cruz lied about that this morning.

First Roberts, now this.

Ted Cruz is good pals and voted to confirm Obama’s favorite for Scotus, Srikanth Srinivasan.

Cruz, who clerked with Srinivasan at the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, quipped, “I am hopeful that our friendship will not be seen as a strike against you by some.”

Obama could go nuclear and nominate the ayatollah kibmenhi to the us Supreme Court. Or “reverend “ wright. Or bill ayres. Or shsrpton. Or pelosi. It all doesn’t matter anymore. The vacancy will be filled by the next president anyway. Lame duck president’s do not traditionally get to fill court seats during the election season, the Senate just waits for the people’s vote and whatever nomination is forthcoming from the new president. I seriously doubt Obama can “change” this , . Though he surely may “hope” to. He’d need sixty votes in Senste and that’s even assuming any lane-duck nominee could even get a vote — and escape any filibusters such as senator Cruz has already promised).

Yes. You’re missing tgat the republicans work for Obama. All the decisions they make favor his plans. Also the republicans do not want the majority they are in power because the tea party put them there

I predict 0dunga will nominate a hard-core communist and BLACK activist to SCOTUS..

Specifically, either Van Jones, Deval Patrick, or Jeh Johnson.

If the Repub Senate declines or fails to hold a confirmation hearing, 0dunga, Hillary, etc., will SCREAM "RACISTS" all the way to the election. Oh wait, they do that ANYWAY.

Congress doesn’t need to expand the number of judges. FDR tried that and as popular as he was at the time, he failed. What they should do is urge the states to pass an amendment that limits judges to, say, ten years on the bench, or twelve. When the founders wrote the constitution, the average life expectancy was about 50 years. They had no way of knowing that 200 years later judges would be sitting on the bench well into their 80’s. of course, Democrats would fight that idea.
