Indeed, you're right. I was thinking; what if WWII had dragged on for 15 years, and there was no end in sight. Imagine WWII still being fought in 1955 with no sign of victory; no improvement at all. It is beyond demoralizing to a population to subject them to an endless war with no known end objective for 15 years. The material cost. The human cost. And to what end.
Did the writer stop to think, for even a moment, that the Dem nominee is going to have to face ‘Cage Match Trump’ in a few months?

I'm not sure what would be more entertaining. Trump vs Hillary or Trump vs Sanders. There are plusses to both in pure entertainment value alone. At some visceral level, I really want the matchup between Trump and Sanders. Both are outsiders in their own parties. The matchup would be a death match, and not just metaphorically, between capitalism and socialism.

The rest of the pack really have no choice in this race but to take the ‘big dog’ on, even though they know in their hearts that they are the only ones going to get bloodied up. How awfully frustrating it must be for the pols to realize that a civilian neophyte politician wandered into their exclusive domain and is man handling them with such ease and so decisively. It’s as if the world has thrown the kitchen sink at him and yet he is not only standing but he gets stronger with each blow.
