Why the Senate Should Reconvene Immediately to Stop Obama
Conservative Review ^ | February 13, 2016 | Brian Darling

The sudden loss of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia already has the political class buzzing about what comes next.

News and analysis moves at lighting speed. The first thing America should do is take a deep breath and celebrate the life of one of the most influential constitutionalist judges in my lifetime. Antonin Scalia was a giant on the Court and he helped change America for the better.

However, because President Obama has routinely abused executive power and given the Senate is in recess, it is reasonable for conservatives to fear a recess appointment.

Therefore, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell needs to immediately convene the Senate as soon as possible to forgo any risk of a recess appointment. A recent appeals court held that a recess appointment can only happen when the Senate is in a long recess.

a recess appointment would only last until the end of the senate session. Let him make a recess appointment.

Let him make a recess appointment. He can put someone like Lawrence Tribe on the Court for the next 10 months. Although, more likely, he could just reappoint Stevens or Souter, if they’re willing.

Watch what happens with turnout in November.

Their schedule doesn’t make any difference to what they were elected to do... and took an oath to follow, also that thing that barry called a piece of paper.

However, I think that I understand your reply.

Is the idiot who wrote this article deaf, dumb and blind?

Doesn’t he know that the Supreme Court is now 100% Obama hacks? The most dangerous thing that can be done to completely remove our freedoms is to reconvene it now without anyone who enforces the rules set forth by the Constitution.

Hold it in limbo until after the election and only then fill the slot.

The immigration question is to be decided by June.

Given the two Constitutionalist judges to choose from, of course Barry would have the old white male assassinated.

A lot of damage can be done in 10 months, and since Roberts is seemingly obsessed with civility and precedent, we would be stuck with awful rulings for decades.

No. Immediately what would happen under the kangaroos of Valerie and her charge BO? I find it plausible they would, in quick order, rule against the rights of religious people, gun owners, property owners, and small businessmen.

Immigration may have lit the fuse on this election, but the Supreme Court may be the powder keg.

Valerie and her BO must be stopped. Yesterday.

"a recess appointment would only last until the end of the senate session. Let him make a recess appointment."

You seem to forget who is in the oval office and who is in control of the US Senate.

Anything obama does is fine with RINOs and the RINOs in the US Senate would prefer a political hack appointed by obama than any appointment by Patriot Donald John Trump.
