It’s desperate, but this is a smart move. I’ll never say a mean word about Laura Bush, she was a very classy first lady and this appearance will probably have a less polarizing result than having W attend.
So, just in the interest of fairness, I hereby anoint this the first smart thing Jeb Bush has done since entering the campaign. :D

Laura Bush was arguably the best , kindest , sweetest , most welcoming 1st Lady in modern US history . It grieves me to see her drawn into this avarice party .
Barbara Bush was right , with her first spontaneous comments on Jeb’s running : “ America has had enough Bushes “ ( or something like that ) Jeb should have listened to his mom then .

Poor Mrs. Bush. She should be sitting in her living room having a nice cuppa tea. Instead she’s trudging 10 feet in back of her son on a snowy day probably wondering why she bothered.
Go home Laura! To wherever that is (Mexico? Saudi Arabia?). The American people are on to your family, and in a few more weeks we will finally be rid of the Bush Family political dynasty. Like a tapeworm, we will pass it from our system.
