Ted Cruz helps his daughter with her math homework. He makes time for tea with his elderly mother. He remembers birthdays, brings his wife flowers, packs her suitcase even when he‘s tired.
Humanizing the candidate is supposed to be a campaign‘s building block, not its closing argument. But with just days until voting begins in the presidential race, Cruz is suddenly under siege. So the Texas Senator trotted out a special surrogate Friday to squash the storylines that may be blunting his momentum.
Without Trump onstage Thursday night, Cruz had his worst debate of the cycle. On Friday, he awoke to a blistering headline on the state‘s largest newspaper—Rough Night for Cruz, blared the Des Moines Register, and fresh provocations from Trump, who has taken to calling "Canadian Ted" an "anchor baby." The lead Cruz enjoyed in the polls in December and January has evaporated. With just three days until the first votes in the presidential campaign are cast, a campaign that observers once saw as the prohibitive Iowa favorite is suddenly limping toward the finish line.

Month after month, all I read on FR was about what a great debater Cruz was, and “Just wait til the debates, that’s when he’ll really show his stuff”.
What a flop.
The Son of a Mailman has had better debate performance. Even Dr. Carson did, who spoke less but is someone people actually like.
From now on maybe Cruz should put de bait on de hook and go fishin’....-

anchor babies are those born in our country to illegal alien parents..no visas or permission to be here...
Ted’s Mom and Dad were in Canada legally working for an American company..they had working visas..

Why has everyone on this site turned against Cruz?
My take after years of watching McCain, Pelosi, Arlen Spector, Hillary, Bill Clinton, John Kerry etc in action is that a certain type of ol geezer feels entitled to lie through their teeth and distort anything they please. All because they are old and feel they have earned it via years in the school of hard knocks. Trump is doing this here to Ted Cruz with this Canadian anchor baby BS...... and I am a Trump supporter because...immigration!
But I know what the score is and the motivations
I can’t speak for everybody.
I can only speak for myself.
I donated to Cruz early in the summer.
Even went to a campaign rally in Jackson, Tn
I am well aware of Trumps past.
I believe some of the things he presently says.
For me, if Trump is elected he will carry a mandate into
office, the likes of which we have never seen.
And that will allow him to use the mandate to get both
democrats and GOP to do a lot of things he said he would do.
I also believe he loves America and sincerely wants to bring
back jobs and prosperity.
If he builds a wall. Makes us safer and brings back jobs, that is
enough for me.
Are you freakin serious??? Trump is making a propaganda point that sounds half credible and half joke to the average Trump supporter. Trump is trying to make Cruz supporters doubt their candidate and stay home or perhaps vote for Trump.
Your truth (I am assuming you are correct) is 100% irrelevant to the above political campaigning
