Assuming this is even true, and it looks like it is, I can’t imagine that this wouldn’t backfire horribly. Personally, I’d be REALLY pissed at anyone trying to “shame” me into doing anything, and I’d be almost guaranteed to do the opposite of what I was trying to be “shamed” into doing.
Basically, this is a TERRIBLE approach to convincing someone you should vote for them. I mean this seems like practically a threat: vote for me or you’re an asshole.
Exactly.
Totally agree. Send this to me and I go through hell and high water to vote...FOR SOMEONE ELSE...not you.
Maybe this is the kind of thing staff does when the campaign has $19 million to play with. Since Trump could invest a $billion, this is rather puny, and that announcement could be another sign of desperation. Rick Tyler, Cruz spokesman apparently has confirmed this. See link at Comment #19.

The taunt in this case is supposed to, I think, come off as non-partisan. It's "Get out and vote," not "get out and vote for me." Now, there are two ways to get even with a person you read as saying "get out and vote for me." One way is to not vote, the other is to get out and vote for his opponent.
***Personally, Iâd be REALLY pissed at anyone trying to âshameâ me into doing anything, and Iâd be almost guaranteed to do the opposite of what I was trying to be âshamedâ into doing.***
“Shaming” sounds like it has Beck’s name all over it.
