Ted Cruz: I’m the only candidate who has consistently opposed amnesty
Washington Times ^ | January 29, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said after Thursday evening's GOP presidential debate that he's the only candidate in the 2016 presidential race who has consistently opposed "amnesty" for illegal immigrants.

"In the Republican field, I am the only person on that stage, the only Republican running, who opposes amnesty, who opposes a pathway to citizenship," Mr. Cruz said on Fox News' "The Kelly File." "Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump — all three of them support a pathway to citizenship."...

What part of it passed the Senate do you not get?

Cruzs' so called poison pill was never incorporated into the bill so it has absolutely no effect what so ever on the fate of the bill. And if Chuck Shummer is your source you are easily fooled.

Wonderful. A headline hit piece in the ‘Daily Worker’ should be worth a lot of votes to Cruz on Monday! All know that rag is left of Harkin. Ted has the best enemies!

Did the gang of eight become law? No. Why is it not law? Because Ted Cruz introduced a poison pill that killed it. Jeff Sessions says that if it were not for Ted Cruz’s actions, it would be the law of the land today. Our country dodged a bullet thanks to Ted Cruz and you spit on him for it.

Even Megyn Kelly agreed Cruz was telling the truth... after the debate. Ted should work that into an ad this weekend.

Yep, Ted was using lies, the amnesty side's lies that it wasn't all about making more Democrat voters. Their vote's against Ted's poison pill unmasked their lies and that was the poison that killed the bill.

“I think I can say this with integrity and good judgement: I believe without the vigorous opposition of Ted Cruz, this bill likely would have passed,” Sessions said. “So we need to thank him.”

“Ted Cruz was with me,” he added. “Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and others who opposed this bill and don’t let anybody tell you any differently. And it was critical to the success we had.”

Sessions is covering for Cruz now that Cruz is doing what Sessions wants him to do. Very tactic common in DC. Sadly a lot of low info voters fall for it. BTW did you know that Sessions has all but endorsed Trump?

Sessions staffer moves to Trump campaign as senator says Iowans need to vote for strong negotiator on trade

Steve King says he believes the Cruz campaign’s explanation for that amendment: that it was meant to be a poison pill that would scuttle the bill all together. “If you watch the positions that Cruz has taken and everything along the way and you understand the legislative process, then you have to look at those amendments as strategically calculated,” King says.

For those who just watched the debate and not the rest she’s an impeaching source who voluntarily retracted her impeachment. Very powerful. If Megyn came out admitting everything Trump had said about her and FOX were true you think Donald wouldn’t run with it. Of course he would.

What is wrong with ENFORCING THE CURRENT LAW(S)?

Not a dang thing. That's how Cruz proposes to get rid of the current illegals, including not letting them get welfare. He said it again last night. Enforce the laws on the books: don't let new illegals in, take away their ability to work at otherwise legal jobs, take away their ability to illegally get freebies, deport those who run into the law on their own (which would include those doing illegal jobs, like drug dealing). Dang few could afford to stay here without one or more of the above unblocked. So you don't need PR nightmare secret police raids to round them up. End 'catch and release' by the cops for the worst and the rest will leave on their own just as they arrived on their own.

Better than Trump spending a fortune on bad PR to round them up, give them a vacation to their foreign families, where they fill out the paperwork to come back legalized. I'm sure Jeb's friends will expedite that paperwork. Spend a fortune to have a country full of sanitized 'legals' and a big wall anyone can get papers to cross. The GOPe was slow, but finally figured Trump out. That's why they're pushing Trump over Cruz. Don't enforce current law and really solve the problem; make new law to create a big, visible, process to make the problem legal.

And in case you haven’t noticed, if we are going to win, we are going to have to join the battle the left is waging against us at every level of government...this includes the use of poison pills
Then don't be upset when the left feeds you one.

I am never surprised by anything the low down dirty rotten left does...but I am surprised when people who profess to be conservative support leftist candidates for office like Donald Trump.
