I am puzzled as to how anyone thinks this wall will be built, clearly, the president of this nation does not have the power to appropriate money to acheive this. How does something like this get started? What is a president going to do towards this task to get it going?

This is an excellent question. It may deserve it’s own thread. I sure am not an expert, and I would hope others who know more would chime in. True constructive suggestions please.

I believe that the process needs to begin at the GOP convention—the GOP platform must be established that we will build a wall and secure the border—for real this time...

The President does have a bully pulpit and can move the party and country in that direction if armed with a secure the border plank and a mandate through the election.

If we have a Republican President, Senate, and House, there is no reason on God’s green earth that we cannot get a wall built. We have voted for this and appropriated money in the past yet it is not been completed. Why...Hmmm

I believe that is because we have not had a President with the will to do it. The majority of the Dems don’t want the border secured because the immigrants are viewed as future Dem voters. The GOPe doesn’t want the wall because it views immigrants as cheap labor—both parties get beaucoup campaign money from lobbyists to keep the status quo.

We fund wars, global junkets, treadmills for shrimp, tunnels for turtles, answers as to why lesbians are ugly, and so on... I don’t think money is the problem, I think it is that we have to have a LEADER with the will to make the changes...No more status quo...A leader who is not beholding to the Cheap Labor Express and lobbyists.

Those are my thoughts.
