He will work well with Harry Reid.

Remember reading about Tip O'Neil, one of the most partisan Democrat Speaker of the House? Think 1980's.

The president at the time was proud to work well with him.

I'll bet trump is going to infuriate Reid, and the Speaker of the House, just as Tip O'Neil was infuriated when he kept being played by Reagan.

I appreciate the honesty and candor.

I think a lot of trump voters seek to screw conservatism.

I still don’t understand why trump will not be caught and defeated by the system. I even less understand why trump will not make America great by agreeing with democrats to shut up conservatives.

He likes many thanks things they like. I am hard pressed to say what conservatives trump wants to work with in 2017. I think he likes many rinos and democrats.

They’ve done it before. Ron Paul was leading by a significant margin in the runup to the caucus in 2012. Santorum won it, coming out of nowhere.

I’m having a hard time figuring out what you’re trying to say in your response, but here’s a post I made where I tried to address some of the outlandish anti-Trump posters and their claims that he would destroy the country with unconstitutional dictates.

Enjoy.

Here’s a question I’d like to pose for all those here who don’t believe Donald Trump is ideologically pure enough to be elected to the presidency.

Must you be a conservative ideologue to enforce an immigration policy that’s already in place?

Must you be a conservative ideologue to build a wall on the southern border that’s already been voted on and approved by congress?

You want to know how you get rid of illegals? You enforce e-verify and harshly punish businesses that employ them. Watch them leave on their own when they can’t get jobs or welfare.

By the same token, you tell the sanctuary cities that they’ll receive no more federal funding until they start complying with existing immigration laws. What will the cities do? Choose sanctuary policy or federal money?

You tell the states they’ll receive no welfare or medicaid funding until they weed their enrollments of illegal immigrants, including their dependents. Again, the choice is protecting illegals in violation of existing federal laws, or money. What choice will they make?

Many illegals run afoul of the law. When someone has a police contact via arrest and they can’t prove legal resident status, you deport them, or hold them for trial then decide whether to imprison or deport them. Do you think the police will hesitate to get rid of a problem the easiest way possible?

We’ll need a big beautiful door on that big beautiful wall just to handle all the traffic headed SOUTH if he implements just the things I’ve outlined above.

Do you think he’s going to break the promise he’s based his entire campaign on? I don’t think so.

Are any of the items I’ve listed above unconstitutional or dictatorial? How much money have we saved so far? BTW, all of these things could be done under EXISTING laws.

He’s stated on numerous occasions that he wants clean air and water but that the EPA is running amok with strangling regulations. How much money will we save if he reigns in the EPA, which immediately makes for a more attractive business environment. Doesn’t the president pick the heads of these federal agencies for his cabinet positions? Do you think Trump’s going to pick an enviro-nut to head the EPA?

He states at every one of his rallies that there will be no infringements on the 2nd amendment and he wants federal recognition of CCW laws.

Exactly what parts of the constitution are you people so fearful of that he’ll destroy?

I see on thread after thread people spouting the same FUD about tyranny and doom but no one ever offers a single bit of evidence or any policy proposals that indicates he intends to become a dictator.

I see an executive with more than 40 years of experience in management. If ever there was an entity in need of effective management, it’s the Federal government. Just think of how much better life would be if we had someone that was willing to kill the beast of bureaucracy and run this thing like a business that needs to live within a reasonable budget.

Cruz, in the classic description, is only conservative on church doctrine - and then only by degree in that he promotes himself for a secular position by using his faith.

Constitutionally he fails to put the interests of the country over the globalist interests of the corporations - observe his votes not his voice. Cruz also fails by his actions to secure the country against foreign invaders through visas and support of 'open borders' Beck. Cruz never had a plan to get back our jobs back from foreign countries - his tax plan has a hidden vat tax for businesses and his TPA support is a sellout for the country.

In summary, Cruz is only a conservative in church matters - and only in the areas that matter to him.

Now for Trump: we have no votes for Trump but we do have a successful businessman willing to take on everything that is not conservative. Trump is ultra conservative on being America first: getting jobs back, securing the border, best tax plan, best trade plan - and most of all he cannot be bought.

The question was about conservatism. Clearly, since we are electing a President, the only conservative in the areas that matter belong to Trump.

Most of us will be so glad when this bs called the Iowa Caucus is over, and we go to actual primary elections.

I have been where you are for decades. Iowa is such a circle jerk and waste of money and time.

It probably adds about a billion $’s to the Iowa GNP?

Well we all know just how critical winning Iowa is!

After all just ask Presidents Santorum and Huckabee how their wins in Iowa cemented their evetual nominations.

In reality,

We have Cruz who has tested the false notions of your post in an obscure Constitutional testing center known as:

The Supreme Court

He has argued and won 5 cases in front of the Court all rooted in Constitutional questions.

Trump has argued ZERO cases. Trump has won ZERO cases.

He is a businessman. He could care less about the Constitution. He is focused like a laser on making a profit. Everything else is subsidiary.

Trump can always be bought because money is what means the most to him. It is his measure of all men and all women. He has no regard for the character of others. He has demonstrated that. Trump is a plutocrat.

I feel no sense of shame about Cruz’s Christian beliefs. You may but again— that is not conservative.

Trump views himself as equal to Jesus. He has no need of forgiveness because he does no wrong. His followers agree.
