Trump taps the right's anger against Fox
By Dylan Byers
Des Moines, Iowa (CNN)For nearly two decades, Republican presidential candidates have run with Fox News. Now, Donald Trump is betting that he can run against it.
Trump's six-month war with host Megyn Kelly, which turned nuclear when he pledged to skip the Fox News debate that she is co-moderating on Thursday, has exposed a significant shift in the political-media landscape: The growing divide between ultraconservatives and Roger Ailes' Manhattan-based network.
Trump's attacks on the network -- like those he's made on Mexicans, Muslims, Sen. John McCain, and others -- are no random acts of emotion, conservative pundits and campaign strategists told CNN. Instead, they indicate calculated tactical moves designed to stoke support among a conservative base that no longer worships Fox News as it once did.
In 2016, that conservative base is coming to believe that Fox News is more in line with the increasingly despised Republican establishment than with the ultraconservatives who support insurgent candidates like Trump and Ted Cruz.

I won't be watching either FOX or CNN. I have better things to do..
When CNN says ‘ultraconservatives’ what they mean are people who actually have principles unlike the media whores at CNN who sold their souls and sacrificed their children to Moloch.
If Trump is anti FOX in general he wouldn’t appear on O’Reilly, Hannity and other shows.
He’s sticking it to Ailes and Megyn.
"...conservative base is coming to believe that Fox News is more in line with CNN & MSNBC..."
There, fixed it.
CNN stirring the pot.
Trump is now even exploiting CNN’s burning desire to stick it to Fox.
The guys is a divide-and-conquer genius!
The MSM is loving every minute of this farce.
He’s like a magician, the media is watching his right hand and he clocks them with a Left Hook.
Fox conservative?
Hmmmm....
Not really.
Watching the cat is more interesting than watching either FOX or CNN.
Not us we are looking forward to Trumps rally to raise money for wounded warriors. Too bad Trump isn’t such a great Christian like Ted Cruz. :-)
Trump is going to do to Conservatives what he is doing to Fox News.
He’s going to give them the finger.
It is really shocking to see how accepting of CNN (yeah, THAT CNN, founded by Ted Turner and liberal as hell) the Trump worshipers have become; I guess if Trump gets to be president he will have to post daily (hourly? minutely?) who and what is to be adored and who and what is to be hated.
Huckster bee will be attending at the rally tonight.
Trump is sticking it to all the self appointed king-makers in the media. Frankly I am enjoying the spectacle as they get their egos notched down.
I always laugh when I see liberals on message boards claim that conservatives robotically take their marching orders from Fox News. If they ever visited a conservative site, they would see innumerable critiques of Fox and its various talking heads.
“Trump is going to do to Conservatives what he is doing to Fox News.
Heâs going to give them the finger.”
Unlike the last 10 years of measurable total less than zero results from GOP majorities in Congress?
Also - this was an obvious hatchet job by Fox.. I hope Cruz finds a way out of this.. Trump is going to come out of this smelling like a rose..
