Hillary Decides What’s Top Secret, What’s Not

Hillary Clinton and her campaign minions are trying mightily to dismiss the conclusions of the intelligence community inspector general that highly classified Special Access Protocol (SAP) documents were transferred to Clinton’s unsecured private server. The first line of Clinton’s defense is (as usual) that the allegations are 1) nothing new and 2) politically motivated. But beyond this usual rote Clintonian response is the additional claim that the documents were also 1) not so classified when Clinton received them and 2) even if they were classified documents the information they contained was public knowledge anyway, so no harm, no foul.

Why not? Her Royal Majesty decided who got the 20,000
MANPADs, and who got the 900 FBI files,
and who got protected for moving Foster’s body.

There are lots of people who work with classified who know instantly that this is ridiculous lying. She’s relying on the ignorance of people, but I wonder to what end? The FBI and prosecutors and lawyers know the truth.

Maybe she thinks that if she can hold on until she’s elected she will skate?

Been there done that. Mil and civilian life. Constantly drilled in to you about how to handle classified material. And, if it’s not part of your task, you have NO need to see it. Besides which, most of could discern what was classified and not, fairly easily.

Don’t let them move the goalpost. The very act of intercepting, stealing, and possessing government business is a crime - secret or not.

I’ve seen enough stories that use terms like ‘retroactively classified’ and ‘now deemed secret’ to know what the plan is.

We will be told that the ‘checks and controls’ at the State Dept were inadequate and unclear, and Hillary tried to do her best in a difficult situation...but was just too darned busy to fix it completely.

And, a ‘Blue Ribbon’ commission will be formed...to ‘study’ and issue a ‘report’ on how to improve State Dept security. The results of which will show that somehow this is GWB’s fault. Then it will make recommendations that include buying a lot of new electronic equipment (from whichever tech company donates the most).

Sounds like an ideal Billy on Pedophile Island defense. “Yeah. She was 16 at the time. But she’ll be 18 in two years.”

The agencies that did the originating classification of the material are looking very closely at what shrillary did.

IMHO Shrillary committed treason.

People don’t understand that there were at least two computer workstations involved in this.

There was a workstation for secret items and there was Hillary’s workstation.

They would not be in the same room.

The other question is,

“Where was Hillary physically located when she sent and received this secret information?”

Was she always at her desk?

If not, then what machine was she using to communicate with?

Wikipedia tells us that SIPRNET has e-mail.

The government has provided a means for people WHO HAVE THE PROPER SECURITY CLEARANCE AND A NEED TO KNOW to send and receive e-mails over a secret system.

Hillary knew that.

On a daily basis, she was communicating with the White House, the Pentagon, the CIA, NSA, foreign governments, and our embassies around the world, but of course, none of that could have possibly been classified.

“Public knowledge” is not relevant. I’ve been specifically told about the consequences for confirming information in Jane’s or even for pointing out that their information is wrong when they are in error (it happens, even at Jane’s). What she did would put anyone without special connections behind bars for a very long time.

There is proof in her emails that she ordered minions to take documents in jackets that were classified, and cut off the warnings. She truthfully never sent documents marked classified, she had her underlings remove the writing that identified them as such so she could say she didn’t know.
