Ben Sasse @BenSasse
.@realDonaldTrump Q4: You brag abt many affairs w/ married women. Have you repented? To harmed children & spouses? Do you think it matters?
Here's what Sasse is talking about: Trump engaged in a highly publicized affair with actress Marla Maples while he was married to his first wife, Ivana Trump, and has written about having relationships with married women.
"If I told the real stories of my experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women, this book would be a guaranteed best-seller," Trump wrote in his book "The Art of the Comeback."
Trump also wrote in "Think Big and Kick Ass" that he's been with married women: "Beautiful, famous, successful, married - I've had them all, secretly, the world's biggest names."
...the combination of infidelity and boastfulness is particularly damaging. Indeed this kind of braggadocio is more reminiscent of professional wrestlers or third-world strongmen than an American president.
Regarding immigration, Trump is no more consistent in his views than Rubio and less consistent than Cruz.
We have a rare opportunity in the GOP primary to strike a blow against a failing political class and do it with candidates whoâve demonstrated the strength of their Christian convictions. We just canât do that with Donald Trump.

How come they’re wanting to know so much about the background of Republican’s but nary a peek at 0bama’s? We still don’t know anything about him; no mention of any friends, girl friends, activities - nothing.
AND it’s VERY UNFAIR to ask Bill Jefferson (BJ) Clinton the same thing.
I don’t get it...
I’m surprised that Trump put that into a book. I’d like to hear him explain what he was trying to communicate to his readers.
coughMan’sCountrycough
Where is all the background info, videos, interview with former classmates, etc. for Bernie Sanders?
I find it bizarre. Freepers used to criticize Bill Clinton for his lecherous behavior, but when liberals like Trump and Gingrich do it, they actually applaud it.
Him too.
The guy is not someone I want representing my country. He just isn’t. Flame away.
Well, there’s always Man’s Country in Chicago if you can get anybody to fess up.
Sorry Libs and GOPe types.
It was JUST SEX, and all candidates now get a PASS on JUST SEX thanks to Slick Willie Jefferson Clinton.
You GOPe guys had your chance to impeach him, but you demurred. So tough sh**.
Please, please don’t tell me — Trump is a sinner? No, no, a thousand times NO! This is too SHOCKING and STUNNING to absorb. I have never met a sinner before ... hand me my smelling salts!
Why didn’t anybody ever ask Willy about his?
They didn’t have to ask Trump. He volunteered the information. And the Marla Maples coverage happened before Trump was a political figure at all.
This stuff about affairs actually is more underreported than Obama’s admitted drug use was at this point in time.
Not a resume enhancer in my book. In fact, I prefer a less sleazy president.
“I find it bizarre. Freepers used to criticize Bill Clinton for his lecherous behavior, but when liberals like Trump and Gingrich do it, they actually applaud”
I don’t remember any Freepers applauding, and neither are liberals.
Everyone knew, but NOBODY really talked and certainly NO MSMer EVER asked JFK about his serial adulteries, until long after his death.
I believe the players there are only men, I mean, no females involved.
Freepers criticized Clinton over the sexual assault, but also for the numerous affairs.
The JFK thing - back then the media didn't go into this for Republican or Democrat politicians.
Nobody applauds infidelity here. But some of us make a distinction between a man who uses underage, unpaid interns, rapes other women, drops trou on poor hotel workers, et al, and men who have consensual affairs with adult women. Not pretty or nice certainly, but not on the level of Clintonian criminality.
George Bush the Elder had affairs, Eisenhower had an affair, FDR had an affair, forget JFK...well, the list goes on. But with the possible exception of JFK, none of them blackmailed or destroyed the ladies they were involved with.
