In the wake of Donald Trumpâs endorsement by evangelical leader and Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr., Republican rival Jeb Bush had some strong words for the real estate mogul and his faith, calling him a âflip-flopper."
"Trump views all this not from a position of his faith, he views it all as politics. I think faith goes way beyond politics,â he said to reporters following his campaign rally.
When asked by reporters if Bush thinks that Trump is a Christian, he said that he doesnât.
âNo, I donât know what he is," he said. "I donât think he has the kind of relationship he says he has if he canât explain it any way that shows he is serious about it.â

“Jeb Bush Suggests Donald Trump Is Not a Christian”
Well, he’s not. But neither is Jeb, most likely.
Good point
I am not voting for Pope.
*ummm*...."how many feet can this guy stuff in his yap?"
Blind squirrel.
Who’s Jeb Bush?
Maybe.
It’s odd to have two children (Eric and Ivanka) leave the Christian faith and become Jewish. That indicates to me that religion was not a serious issue in the Trump home.
I suspect he’s just a luke warm or “social” Christian.
But, then again, I don’t care.
The fact that Trump is liberal on corn subsidies, guns, abortion, and private property rights (favoring crony capitalism) is the issue to me.
If GHWB was not on the ticket in 1980, I bet most of that family would’ve sided with Carter. Carter was a sunday school teacher, we’re not electing a preacher but a president.
Sounds like he ordered more turtles to pass out.
There are a trove of reasons for why I will not vote for Trump under any reasonably foreseeable circumstances. His religious beliefs, or lack thereof, are not on that list.
But, then again, I don't care.
The fact that Trump is liberal on corn subsidies, guns, abortion, and private property rights (favoring crony capitalism) is the issue to me.
Perhaps all of these are correlated?
Reagan never went to church on Sundays while in office. Just saying.
Not a Christian? How does anyone see into another’s heart?
Sure, The Donald has a hard edge, and sometimes his opinions shift all over the map, but there is no MALICE in his heart that was not in reaction to some harsh attack from another direction. Once the attack is repelled, and the attacker is properly submissive, The Donald does not go into ruthless pursuit.
The Donald does not care to be ambushed, and when he is, it is rather like poking a bear. By now, Jeb should understand that he has poked The Donald with a very sharp stick.
That is going to leave a mark. On Jeb, not on The Donald.
Jeb is impugning not only Donald Trump and a man’s right to his personal expression of his faith, but also Jerry Falwell Jr. and his followers, as well as Liberty University and its students/teachers.
You can tell a tree by its fruit. Trump's is putrid.
I don’t think Jeb! is in a position to judge anyone’s faith or lack thereof other than his own.
I’d say he’s a “Reform Christian,” like about 90 percent of people calling themselves Christians today.
