On a cold Tuesday evening four years ago, I drove to West Des Moines, Iowa and entered a high school gymnasium. Wearing my Rick Perry for President t-shirt, I greeted the Perry precinct captain and asked if I could speak on behalf of the Texas Governor. He graciously agreed to my request. It was the culmination of a long multi-state journey.
I waited to speak, and then I addressed the ~200 Iowans that had come out to make their choices for President. I explained that I was a Tennessean and an Iraq War veteran. I wanted them to know that the reason I had left my family in Tennessee to come all the way to Iowa was that I cared deeply about the fighting men and women of our country and wanted them to have a conservative and prepared Commander-in-Chief whom they deserved.
During my 5-10 minute speech, I took some shots at Ron Paul, Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney and talked up Perry. A few more precinct captains spoke for their candidate, and then the Iowans voted. After the ballots were counted, Rick Santorum had edged out Rick Perry by fewer than 10 votes at my precinct. I was disappointed, but I thought Perry made a respectable showing. The evening ended dismally as Perry finished a distant fifth with about 10% of the vote.
I campaigned a week in Iowa prior to the caucus, and many conservatives expressed genuine affection for Perry. But they candidly explained they believed Santorum had the momentum. And they wanted to defeat Romney. Unlike Perry, Santorum had shined in the debates and had landed some highly coveted endorsements from conservative Iowan leaders such as Bob Vander Plaats....

That’s RedState these days.
Sorry, being behind 11 points always gives you a BIG edge on some planets but earth is not one of them.
Oh wow... a “Rick Perry for President” guy! He clearly knows how to pick winners!
Oops that’s “Earth is not one of them”
And no Trump supporter has posted boosterist articles?
Please, these guys see anything with pro-Cruz, anti-Trump headline, they’ll throw it up here before even reading the damn article!!
Completely fair game, IMO. Honorable, even.
My disclosure: I don't know anything about the author or the "publication." I'm a Trump man.
I think my 14 year old justifies things this way...Well he does it.....
The Iowa system is a bit confusing, I admit.
Well 2ndDivisionVet posted this thing under the guise of news, like some Cruz supporter has any kind of informed opinion backed up with insider knowledge, internal polling, opr on the ground scuttlebutt. No it was just a “Whistling past the graveyard” tripe. I should write a piece saying how it will be proven the moon is made of cheese. I’ll post it here it will be so.
Hereâs how the Iowa caucus works

As he said, there’s snow in the Iowa forecast, but not until later in the evening or early the next morning. I do think a snowstorm during the day Monday would hurt Trump somewhat, but it doesn’t look likely so far.

Does anyone know why double posts occur. I’m sure I’m only hitting the Post button one time.
I’m betting a Cruz win in Iowa leads to a Kasich win in New Hampshire and from that a badly damaged Trump. In the end, the establishment GOP will get the candidate it wants and adopt the policy platforms of Paul Ryan. Hillary or Bernie will then probably end up the next President. Way to go GOP.
