Zogby National Poll- Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are Tied at 45%

If the Presidential election were held today and it was against the two leaders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it could very well be a virtual tie. The latest Zogby Poll has the two party leaders stuck in a mathematical tie at 45% each.

"This headline is actually correct to the tenth of a percent," said John Zogby about the headline reporting on the poll that was conducted January 19th and 20th online. "The new poll shows a 16 point gender gap with Mr. Trump leading among men 50%-42% and Mrs. Clinton ahead among women 48%-40%." The poll also shows 10% of the voters as undecided. Zogby says there is a margin of sampling error of +/-3.4 percentage points.

SNIP

While Zogby's numbers show the expected results with how well the candidates draw among party lines (Hillary wins Democrats 82%-13%, Trump wins Republicans 81%-8%), there are some surprises in some demographics that Dems normally win.

Mr. Trump is ahead among Catholics - a group that Democrats have won every election since 1992. He also draws an impressive 66% support among evangelicals (to Mrs. Clinton's 25%). He also leads among NASCAR Fans (48%-42%), Investor Class voters (49%-44%), and Weekly Wal-Mart Shoppers (50%-42%) - a group President Obama won twice. He even is drawing 37% of union households (to Mrs. Clinton's 56%).

Hillary has 42% of men? I’m not buying that in any way.

Very curious that, according to Zogby, “all other candidates” consists of:

“In matchups against other GOP opponents, Mrs. Clinton leads all the rest: 44%-39% against Jeb Bush; 44%-40% vs, Ben Carson; 45%-37% vs. Carly Fiorina; 45%-39% vs Marco Rubio; 44%-38% vs. John Kasich; and 44%-40% vs. Chris Christie.”

NOTICE ANYONE MISSING?

I don’t buy it. Zogby is big Dem. Other polls are, too. Many conservatives refuse to answer pollsters. Polls are crap.ignore them and go vote...they want to suppress us and then to make it worse they’ll claim discrimination against immigrants and blacks voting.

The “fact” that 25% of evangelicals will vote for Hillary is what is really damning about this. That a self-proclaimed believer in Christ would vote for a baby-killing, abomination supporting. left wing ideologue is so disheartening.

But even Jesus had a snake in his bosom.

I don’t trust the Zogby poll about Clinton. I see NO enthusiasm for her, no bumper stickers (unlike Bernie, for whom I’ve seen several). My college kid says the college crowd is all for Bernie.

We will start seeing, over the next five weeks, how close the polls come to reality. At this point, I will treat any radical last-minute shift in polls as an admission from the pollsters that they were lying before, and now need to reveal the real numbers before being outed as incompetent liars.

A lot of "Christians" are Christian-socialists who believe that supporting services for the "poor" beat all other considerations. I can see their reasoning having a theological basis.

I'm thinking about two groups that Trump must own. One is veterans and other military oriented voters. Another is US workers replaced by foreign labor. Both groups have plenty of time to get out and vote.

Then there's that women vote. Most women aren't femnazis (honest). Trump is the ultimate alpha-male. It's in the DNA....a lot of women will feel secure with Trump that wouldn't with many of the others. I'd think hillary would lose a lot of those women's votes long before November.

You left out one big group for Trump. He’ll get 98% of the small business vote. That’s how I came in at first. When Trump speaks and you’ve been in business your whole life it’s like where the heck have you been all these years! Taxes, trade, regulation, it’s like he’s a godsend.

I’[d like to know why anyone would support her. They must be stark raving mad. She has lied to the parents who lost loved ones in Benghazi, lied about her server, lied about e0mails, the list is endless to her corruption and now she is under investigation and still there are idiots out there who would vote for this woman. Stunning.

Keep in mind that a person who teaches the progressive social justice gospel may self-identify as “evangelical”. The pollster only asks if you self-identify. They don’t verify it.

he’s ahead with Catholics so don’t don’t pick on us lol. And if they didn’t include Hispanic Catholics the majority would be outrageous. I am rallying my whole family to support him now that I think the primary is pretty much done. this is a time for Christians to stick together and vote.

Exactly. Especially when there are a bunch of polls out thee showing Trump LOSING to Hillary and Ted WINNING against Hillary in the same poll.

Trying not to put on a tinfoil hat, but it’s a pretty glaring omission to exclude Cruz from the list.

25% of evangelicals going to Clinton? Not likely, although I guess it depends on how one defines "evangelical."

My unofficial definition is "white Protestants who attend church regularly." But who's to say it doesn't include black Protestants, too.

I know there's probably some disappointment among some church-going people that Cruz appears to be losing steam, but does that disappointment translate into jumping ship to vote for Hillary? Get real.

Disaffected evangelicals might look at third party candidates; they might opt to sit the election out; but they ain't voting for Hillary Clinton in such large numbers.
