The terror group ISIS has created a whole "industry" out of the production of fake passports, a high-level French official said today.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve told reporters that through ISIS's operations in Syria, Iraq and Libya, the group has acquired blank passports and has now set up a "real fake document industry." Cazeneuve made the statement following a meeting with top European officials where he proposed setting up a new task force to help nab people attempting to come into the European Union with fake papers.
Last month ABC News reported that U.S. intelligence suspected ISIS had acquired thousands of blank Syrian passports and at least one passport printing machine after taking over government offices in Syria. Officials from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) said in a 17-page report that the terror group has likely been able to print legitimate-looking Syrian passports since at least last summer - and raised the possibility that people using the forged documents have snuck into America.
Maybe it's just me, but all of the U.S.-backed air strikes against ISIS don't seem to be slowing the terrorist group down. ISIS has now become something like a-Qaeda's smarter, more brazen brother. Even after al-Qaeda pulled off the attacks on 9/11, there was a temptation to dismiss them as a bunch of fanatical loons who were hiding in caves. They weren't really being sneaky prior to 9/11, they were just taking advantage of the joke the U.S. used in place of diligent monitoring of foreigners roaming about the country. Sure, we worried somewhat about them using the porous borders to gain further access to the country, but, largely thanks to liberals and moderate Republicans, we didn't worry that much.
Now ISIS has a global recruiting reach thanks to social media, and they can provide fake passports at will.
Syrian passports.
But we're not supposed to worry about people coming in from Syria, right?

The irony is that they don’t really need it — Europe is so bent on national suicide that they just let them in and provide for their housing and food without even asking for a passport.
No... Refugees are too well VETTED.
The Clinton Crime family funded the whole thing from the money they got from George Soros....
A bit late to the party, Cazeneuve, but at least you made it here. We’ve known about their fake passports for some time.
The Feds will allow refugees with Syrian passports, but won’t let me get on a plane with my California Driver’s License. Brilliant.
“...but wonât let me get on a plane with my California Driverâs License. Brilliant.”
As far as I know, California isn’t on the list of states whose DL’s are unacceptable!
Pull all US Passports Immediately and Replace with Chip Tech....we do it for credit cards...Border Agents and TSA won’t even have to think about it.
There is great amazement among western leaders that muslims break laws and their behavior is uncivilized.
There is great amazement among the muslim invaders that western leaders are so stupid and weak.
So, they’re printing passports; O’Bampster’s printing hundreds. Which is the major, controllable threat?
Yep. Let’s solve the problem of ineffective, bloated, JBT, non-working govt with....MORE govt.
BRILLIANT /s
Pulling all passports immediately identifies who is legit and who is not
Seems you are correct. My bad. I read a few weeks ago that CA was one of 4. A current search resulted in this CNN breakdown, showing 22 States in compliance, 19 with extensions, 4 pending extensions (including CA) and 5 noncompliant States. However, the point still stands. http://money.cnn.com/2015/12/28/technology/passport-drivers-license-airplane/
Again, you presuppose govt CARES. I contend they do not, else they would not let them IN the country to begin; let alone allow them to continue to reside soaking up benefits and rioting.
Unless they need the passports to get to America. ...
