> I have never, ever had anyone tell me that he had too much ammunition.
And I’ll bet that you never said, “Gee, I wish we’d had fewer bullets.” Something no combat veteran said, ever.
(((Prepper ping)))
A gun without bullets is just a club.
It may not have happened to you, yet, but it seems to me like the 0bama regime and MSM are setting the stage for defining how much ammunition is too much - note how they go out of their way to say how much ammo some of these terrorists have, even though, sometimes, what they have is not that much out of the ordinary.
The crime is in what someone does with their ammunition, but it seems to me like having too much, as defined by them, is about to be a crime.
Running low. Quit buying when prices and supply went out of sight. Looks like supply and pricing is pretty good. Not what it was years ago but not completely insane.
Not to hijack the thread but I went to the CMP range in Talladega Sat. with the girlfriend. Fantastic facility. No exaggeration, probably the nicest shooting facility in the nation. Really. The 600 yd range has to be seen to be believed. Targets at 200, 300 and 600 yds. 50 stations. Electronic scoring for targets. Instant feedback. Saves ammo and instant gratification.
One other thing. Don’t mess with my lady! At 200 yds just shot after shot in the black. Generic 5.56 with 1x3.5 scope. .308 Winchester featherweight with Nikon 4X.
Also popped off about 60 rds. at the pistol range. 50 feet at a torso cutout. First couple of mags she shot I said “you’re shooting high. You’re hitting the head.” She said “that’s what I’m aiming at”. Excuse me! This with a Glock 43. No target pistol.
A handgun and a long weapon per adult is merely the minimum. We call that âa good start.â</i><
P>RPGs and M-5s would be good, too, and they are sanctioned by the 2nd Amendment. These things are no longer a matter of abiding by government rules which are more and more capricious and lawless and have nothing to do with the Constitution.

I was issued 12 rounds of 9MM in Desert Storm. Evidently, the Saudis we were advising thought it was more important for their NCOs to have plenty of ammo to shoot in the air with their Steyr's to celebrate kills, Kapsa, morning bowel movements, etc.
I almost had the ol' lady send me a couple of boxes by mail. Wasn't needed as I turned in 10 rounds when I left, having wasted 2 rounds on a starving Iraqi shooting at us from 800+ meters as we were clearing un-exploded ammo from dead Iraqi vehicles at Al Khafji just before the ground war kicked off. The Saudis eliminated the threat with a TOW missile, classic Arab overkill as the same V150 had a cupola mounted 50 cal.
Regarding firearms, what is the recommended procedure for getting and keeping antiques and commemoratives up to standard where they could be used as backups? Ammo for some of the antiques is hard to come by and expensive. Do you buy as much ammo as you would an AR-15 or an AK-47?
Marking for future use. Thank you all for the links and info.
I love articles like this; they are all I need to show the wife to allow more purchases from CTD.
