do you understand the deal with ethynol or whatever it’s called, and the subsidies?
isn’t just an environmentalist thing and money for corn croppers?
i dont know. honestly. that’s just what i’ve read in conservative circles
His objective is energy independence and he clearly says so but the detractors won’t deal with it.
Even the governments own information will admit ethanol contains about 2/3 of the energy of gasoline. With 10% ethanol that translates to about 3-4% worse mileage.
Ethanol also attracts and absorbs moisture like any alcohol that can cause corrosion and deterioration of internal parts susceptible to moisture. It eats some traditional tubing, gaskets, seals, etc. It is particularly bad for 2 cycle engines. I’ve had to learn how to completely rebuild 2 cycle carburetors and have had to do it for every 2 cycle engine I’ve got.
The real profiteers on corn ethanol as a gasoline additive are the granary and silo operators as the subsidy recipients, IMO. The farmer gets the benefit of stable and/or modestly increased price for his corn.
Ethanol gas additive only benefits those green zealots who would have us all riding horses (until the PETA dipshits stop that).
