Too bad: The new documentary "Weiner" is showing at the Sundance Film Festival today and hits theaters May 20.
The film started as an effort to capture the successful comeback of the disgraced ex-congressman in his 2013 run for mayor. Documentarians Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg got inside access to the campaign - so the cameras were rolling when the news broke that Carlos hadn't stopped sexting after all.

The thing that seems to be rarely mentioned nowadays about Mr. Weiner is what a foul bombastic loudmouth he was as a state representative. The kind of smarmy little schmuck you’d like to belt in the mouth if given the opportunity. And after his exposure as a lowlife cyber pervert, we seem to forget what a filthy creature he was prior, and how he got exactly what he deserved.
